Hey Guys!! It's a new year and our first new installment of the NegativeWorld podcast happens to be our last recorded from 2012. This episode, NinSage, DrFinkelstein and Davoid discuss about Nintendo gaming in 2012, the Wii U and some launch games, as well as a quick glimpse into 2013.
The holiday season was pretty hectic for all involved so we thank you for your patience. It might be a little funky to hear us talk like it's 2012, but we assure you the content is top-notch! ;)
As usual, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner and dictator, Zero. The interlude's musics are from various games(try to guess which games). Those are orchestral versions, performed by Montreal based "L'Orchestre de Jeux Video"(or "Video Game Orchestra"). Feel free to give them a "Like" on the Facebook page.

Yeah, there are more substantial characters other than the survivor you're playing as. One of them is the guy you mentioned who is watching over you and provides a lot of the narrative. He's a character you will come to know over time even if you don't actually talk to him or even see his face. There are two other major characters: a leader of a secret society, and a doctor who is trying to find a cure to the infection. The character you control gets caught up in these other characters' interests and conflicts, which is cool because you, as the player, are not entirely sure who you should trust.
I think that's sufficient, I don't want to reveal too much!
I don't think Swapnote's slowness is at all related to the 3DS's technical capabilities. I think the program is just done in a very strange way. It's not like Swapnote is on the technological cusp or anything. The original DS could have definitely handled an instant messaging program (and does via Homebrew).
Really, if they put Miiverse on the 3DS, it shouldn't be an app at all. It should be a big update that completely overhauls the UI and allows you to go through Miiverse via the Home Button, same as on Wii U. My hopes aren't too high, but it makes a whole lot of sense.

@Jargon Swapnote stores the entire progress of making the thing though, right? So you can watch it "made" before your eyes? That probably makes it a bit more intensive than it would have been if it just stored the final product only.
Either way the system needs a massive overhaul. It's just way, way too annoying to use seriously.
That's true, but it still seems like something that could be unpacked in the background before you open the app.
Miiverse is the best hope of the 3DS UI becoming what I always hoped it would be. They've got Wii U as a model now, as much as there wasn't an excuse before, there really isn't any now.
I've listened to this repeatedly, and I can't place it. In my head, there is dancing (or someone is hiding, or some kind of shell game). I'm sure that is relevant.. All I can think of is the Breath of Fire II hunting thing, or the dig up treasure thing in Link to the Past.. Is that it? *looking it up* .. Thats not it....
EDIT- Wait wait wait...alright, Mr. Tricky, I think I figured it out... --YES, CONFIRMED. FF Chocobo Theme WOW!!
Man, I BARELY played VII (though I went to the end of the game), and every time I thought "hey, I could use a Chocobo," in III(US), I just walked to gain levels, or took the airship. So yeah, I haven't even heard the song THAT much!
I probably took it a little too far at the Chicago get-together. But trying to kill all of the on-screen players from the tablet was a genuine challenge!!
