The New Year starts off with a surprising thud with this week's Nintendo Download. No new content will be added to the Wii U eShop or Wii Shop Channel on January 3, 2013, and the 3DS eShop lacks any new Virtual Console titles. However, Unchained Blades, a massive RPG, lands on the 3DS eShop courtesy of XSEED Games. Atlus' Code of Princess also lands in the 3DS eShop, as well as some other new titles on both 3DS and DSiWare. @deathly_hallowsQuick impressions- Enough of a departure for EO IV to make it a worthy purchase, IMHO. Seems like it is a dungeon crawler that has auto-mapping as you fill in the grid (WISH EO games did that), and it also has some other battles that resemble fighting games and rhythm games. So far, so good! Only put about 2 hours into it, but it has me intrigued.

@Deerock69You can do that in EO games. It's in the options. I turned it off.

Even though I bought the retail version of Code of Princess, I sold it, then used the funds to get the digital download version (downloading as we speak, actually!). I'm happy to have this "on tap" at all times (I wish I could have all of my 3DS fighting games as digital downloads too!) but the only bummer is that I have to start over from the beginning. I'm only *kinda* bummed about it though, since the game is a blast and I honestly don't mind starting from square one. Can't wait to start the adventure over again. Did anyone else get this? We should meet up online and do some brawling together...!

I have it. We should set something up in the Code of Princess thread.

I wonder if most people are playing this for the first time? I can't imagine too many people did the same thing as I did, what with buying the game twice, and all.

I honestly can't imagine that, either. You're one in a million, Grant!

Well, I was honestly tricked. I seriously thought there would be absolutely no chance that the game would ever make it to the eShop, so I bought it retail. But it works so much better as a DD title, so I just sold it and used the money to get an eShop card and get the game the way I wanted it. If I had known it was coming to eShop to begin with, I wouldn't have bothered with the retail game. On the other hand, the music CD is pretty sweet.

@ludist210 Wii U owners already don't have to rebuy VC games, they can do the system transfer.

@Zero Yeah, but I wouldn't put it past Nintendo to make us re-buy them to use the GamePad, or up-rezzed visuals, or just plain playing the games out of Wii Mode (which I assume is what ludist was referring to).
