Negative World Version 2.0 is now live!

What is the Negative World? you may ask. The Negative World is a Nintendo site run by the fans, for the fans. We started up back in 2001 or so based on an outcry for a Nintendo site not plagued with constant bickering and arguments, and have been going strong ever since. Instead of having a bunch of crazy moderators telling everyone what they can and can't do (and crazy trolls ruining the experience for everyone,) we have a core group of ever-expanding users that sets the course for the site. We believe this approach to a video game forum makes for the best user experience in the end.

Also, it's a lot more damn fun.

But we are not accepting new members as of yet. I know, I know... the public is banging on our doors, but we are working hard to make sure Version 2.0 will be perfectly squeaky clean when we finally start accepting new members again.

STAY TUNED!

I still remember Crocomire greeting me to these boards back when I was one of the early members. He should come back--he's a classy guy.

@TriforceBun

We should trade up to Croco. Now that's a classy guy.

Absolutely dapper.

Lets maybe change the thread title to reflect the fact that this is old, just so there is no confusion. Can we add a [Retro] or [Old] tag?

I dunno, then we will have to change titles for every old post that gets bumped...

@Zero

Not every thread implies something has changed with the entire site as a whole. I feel this is a special case.

So what version are we on now?

Hmm I dunno, I think that would set an odd precedence though. Changing titles to make them seem current.

Eh whatev. I'm just trying to prevent confusion in this singular instance. And I change thread titles to correct their meaning sometimes. Usually my own or when a "prep-hype" thread reaches it's threshold (such as my Hyrule Historia thread).

I have to ask as a somewhat new member what happened back in 2001 that got the site started? Because the idea that Crashman/NinSage had with Wiiaredeep now Nintemple.com really only got kicked off after E3 2008 and all the vile stuff that was happening at the time and a need for a change in the gaming community as a whole.

@NinTemple_Maxi I don't remember if it was 2001 exactly, but somewhere around there. But it didn't turn into "Negative World" until a bit later.

It kind of morphed a lot over the years. Somewhere in there it became pretty obvious that the bigger sites weren't going to work for Nintendo fans.

So, when is the mobile version going up? I can't browse NW for a damn on my phone.

Gosh I don't even know. Realistically? Spring / Summer.

I thought we were getting a newer version... I wouldn't mind some kind of rating system for each post or maybe jsut a thumbs up or down kinda thing added. Animated gif icons hehe. Everything else I'm pretty happy with
