**The following scores are from Official Nintendo Magazine, according to a subscriber at NeoGAF.**
NSMBU (WiiU) - 86
TTT2: WiiU Edition (WiiU) - 88
FIFA 13 (WiiU) - 80
ZombiU (WiiU) - 92
Epic Mickey: The Power of 2 (Wii) - 80
Nintendoland (WiiU) - 90
With ZombiU, they love the fact that it is truly a survival horror game, and a legitimately scary one as well. The attention to detail is apparently fantastic as well, they use the example of the ingame depiction of London Underground stations, featuring status boards, announcements, turnstyles, the round help buttons, etc. They also see the gamepad as being used excellently, for example as a scanner, inventory, controlling security cameras, etc. They have a few minor issues and glitches with the gameplay, but nothing too major. They also wished it had online play and Miiverse functionality. Overall, they claim that it is 'the game you'll be switching on to illustrate why the WiiU is so great'.
Pfft. What kind of 2 bit review am I going to get from a place called Negative World? I prefer to get my game journalism from quality websites like IGN.
I'm enjoying the game so far. So are many people in the Miiverse. and I just put up the Nintendo World Report score. I really trust them as a publication and well... those three reasons I listed should be enough no?
I've seen Reddit linking to a lot of positive reviews today... reviews that say: look, this isn't some arcade shooter. It's a first person survival horror game and it's a great, if flawed, experience.
I've decided I'm going to buy it tomorrow. I would go buy it right now, but I've had too many beers since coming to this decision. Heh.
Have fun! Its a truly fear-inducing game, which I both hate, and love... I look forward to truly diving in this weekend since I've had only a small amount of quality playtime.
Something else. I've noticed some reviews from 1up and others complaining about the Wii U face button layout. Saying Nintendo just did that to be different. They argue that that will cause hardcore gamers to be confused when they play games on it because they have other control schemes ingrained. That would be true except for the fact that the SNES used that same scheme 21 years ago when neither the PlayStation or Xbox were even in development. Game journalism at its finest...
If anything, it was probably Microsoft who changed the letters and colors (off the DC controller) in fear of a lawsuit.
Looks like the Gaf hysterics were unwarranted (as usual). The port is solid barring a couple of areas. If they're patched, the Wii U version will be the best one.
@achhibbar Eurogamer's faceoff is an excellent series of articles comparing cross/multi-platform games. I use it often since I own all the systems and a gaming PC.
