Kickstarter: Pure Nintendo Magazine UPDATE: Received my first issue

I saw this on NinTemple.com. The new magazine is called Pure Nintendo Magazine. It will be bi-monthly so for the mathematically challenged that's six issues per year. Twenty bucks gets you a subscription and there are perks for those who want to donate more. Here's the link. I for one will be backing this. The internet is best for fast info of course, but there's just something about a real magazine that sets it apart.

Also, if you haven't checked out NinTemple's forums I hope you'll consider it. It's much quieter but has a nice core group of people including people like Negative World Podcast co-host NinSage (Joe). There's a link on Neg World's front page.

UPDATE: Pure Nintendo Magazine has added additional support levels with additional rewards.

For those that have never supported a Kickstarter project this was my first time and it was very easy. It just took a couple of minutes. Also the fact that I checked out via Amazon made me feel very comfortable that my money was safe.

UPDATE from the PNM Kickstarter page: Pure Nintendo Magazine said:
Some of the chatter on forum posts have questioned what PNM can offer that is different from other online gaming sites. We want to reassure you that we do have official support from Nintendo to run PNM. We have full rights to use the name, and we are working closely with Nintendo's legal and PR teams to guarantee that PNM will feature plenty of exclusive content not available anywhere else.

Many fans have also mentioned that one of the things they disliked about NP was that they didn't focus enough on third party content. Because PNM is "by fans, for fans", third party titles and game studios will be featured just as prominently. We already have contacts inside several studios developing titles for Wii U and 3DS, and are working hard to gain more.

Thanks for all you do, and please continue to spread the word!

Why not sign up for a (free) account and create your own content?
From this author:
There is no more public content for this category.

I woulda gave them money if I had money. And they should have stated that either at the beginning or soon after they would have gotten more money. glad they hit their goal. But a magazine thats not monthly won't get that many exclusives...yes it sounds like they'll get some but they could have potentially more

Do we have a final (and handy) list of folks here who are getting issues?

I wanna know where my PNM brothers (and sisters?) are!

Glad to hear it got funded. Didn't support it myself, because physical magazines need to die already, their "exclusives" are a blight on an industry that has long since left them behind, but still, glad to hear some folks'll be gettin' jobs out of it and some crazy people will have their magazine!

Reading an old Nintendo Power while playing Dragon Warrior III is immensely more satisfying than scrolling down a stupid webpage for information. I have a hard time putting a number on it, but if I had to, I'd guess "4000% more satisfying."

Indeed.

I was kinda busy when I saw that PNM made it's funding otherwise I would've stopped in here for a "victory lap" with others here that supported this. I have to say it felt good to feel like I was at least a small part of helping this happen.

I received my first issue of Pure Nintendo Magazine as of yesterday. It was a real treat to see it so soon after the Kickstarter. I'm short on time but I'll mention a couple of quick impressions.

Pros: Great paper quality, bright and colorful, well laid out.

Cons: Small amount of content

Overall I'm very happy. It's got quite a way to go to be "great" but they're off to a good start. I'm glad I supported this.

Cool! I'll have to call home and see if it got to me. Maybe you're just close to the epicenter?

Yeah I'm pretty sure the rate now is the same as the basic single subscription deal was on the Kickstarter - $20 for one year (six issues).

@Xbob42 But it's easier to read a magazine on the can than a computer.

I... I'm going to get a reputation for my on the can habits, aren't I?

I disagree! I've become a tablet on the shitter guy as of late. You can watch Netflix, read a book, check the news... hell even check Negative World. Not that I'm doing that right now... or am I...

I thought they were in Denver for some reason. Either way, I'd probably be 24 hours behind you any day of the year.
