@Davoid

New classic controller looks quite nice, but I just knew they'd have something new for us to buy. It wouldn't be Nintendo if we didn't have to shell out a couple hundred bucks for 4 controllers each generation.

Iwata: "What are they saying on Negative World?"

Well @Jargon, since Wii for sure... But the cost of controllers hasn't been an issue really with consoles prior to Wii... It pretty much started with the Wavebird controllers. Still, that new pad is really slick.

@TheBigG753 - Ahahahhahaha!! :D

@Davoid Iwata and his posse checking out gaming sites after Nintendo Direct.

On one of the screens (top left), you can see NeoGaf.

Miiverse! Pretty cool concept. Nintendo's taking online seriously and with a unique approach.

Love the Wii U Pro controller.

That snippet of NSMBU looks much better than what we saw at E3. I said wow at the backgrounds.

My mind is blown. Is this Nintendo or is this just Fanta Sea?

Edit: I have been following Nintendo and Wii U Speculation for over a year. I decide to go camping for the weekend, and the bomb drops. What the fuck.

Edit 2: I am blown away by the Miiverse and NSMBU. Of course it could look better, but it already looks way better than the other NSMB games so I'm happy. Plus, I didn't expect the insane message board of a console to be that in-depth, so it makes the package even more amazing. Crazy.

And that video with the grandpa was awesome lol. Nintendo needs to push the cheese.

@carlosrox
Make no plans close to E3

so if most of us end up being friends on wii U in this Miiverse... does that mean the death of Negative World?? lol

And this NFC writing is totally flying over my head. I thought NFC was just for reading the chip or whatever in specific toys, figures or cards??

Oh yeah, and - Wii U is a TV remote? Nice!

@anon_mastermind

That is definitely a nice little touch. Hope it can control my receiver volume as well... don't see why not.

@Hinph, don't know if it could have some extra functions for SmartTvs. I do not have any cablodistribution service, just SmartTV apps, like Netflix, Youtube, etc.

Black Wii U confirmed! Think it'll be available at launch?

@anon_mastermind, Here's hoping. They sure have lots of black controllers, so I think it is likely for a release.

The Miiverse is what I've been dreaming of. It would be nice to share my experiences with a bunch of you without having to go a separate device. Man, we're getting lazy! You have to admit, it is pretty nifty.

This was one of the best things out of the video. It would be great just being able to talk to other people about Nintendo games and not have the other systems mentioned on that board.

The integration of communication so tightly withing NSMBWU is something I was not expecting. That could potentially be awesome.

The idea of Miiverse also sounds very promising. These are the type of software and OS features that are needed if the tablet controller is gonna really shine.

-Miiverse sounds AWESOME. It's essentially like a Twitter feed for all of your friends. Brilliant. I'm really exited to just type text into this thing. I HATE typing things into my 360. I like the idea of seeing what everyone is playing. It's practically free advertising for every game, isn't it? It's cool to see what games people are playing.

-I hope we start seeing more options with Mii faces and that kind stuff. I wonder if we'll be able to transfer our Miis between 3DS and WiiU?

-What little I saw of NSMB didn't seem Earth shattering. The game looks fun, no doubt, but despite whatever changes they made, it still looks really...I don't know, vanilla. It looks like they're doing more with the backgrounds. Everything just kind of looks like it's covered in some plastic, lifeless sheen. On the plus side, the world map looks bigger, and hopefully allows more of a 'sense of place' for the game. There looks like there may have been a hint at what's to come too with the Mii postings. Something about a flying squirrel?

-Nintendo Network is a good name. Thank you Nintendo, for not naming your online network something god awful!! It's a name we'll be living with for a while, so I'm glad they went with the obvious here.

- I still don't understand what the point is in switching the face buttons with the right analog stick. Is it just to be different? Is there any reasoning behind it? Does it make the buttons easier to hit or something? Or is it just Nintendo being Nintendo? I kind of want to see them switch it back - especially if there's any chance we'll be playing Gamecube games on the Virtual Console. I'd just like that experience to be as close as possible there.

@canonj Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't your social network made up of people you've already friended? Do they show messages from strangers on there?

@PogueSquadron
Messages of random people who are playing the same game as you may pop up on the OS. That's how I understand it. I expect there to be some customization for the experience.

So what's the deal with the writing capability of the NFC reader?

What would that be used for?

In Spyro the toys actually save what level they are and what abilities you have unlocked for them. So I could take my Spyro over to a friends house and plop it on his portal and all my stuff relating to that toy would be there. That is the write part of the NFC.
