April 13th was a good day: In 1992, A Link to the Past came out.
Some of you played it on that day but I was not that lucky. I had not recieved a SNES until Christmas of 1992 and only read my NP magazine over and over again as well as the free players guide that I received from renewing my subscription.
The stories that were written up like a history book of sorts in this guide kept my interest up for months - I was just amazed that I had somehow missed playing the original Legend of Zelda.
Anyways, my parents were very hesitent on upgrading my system from the NES but with the help of my grandparents, Christmas morning I was able to see this:
Me and my cousins played this game for hours - lighting torches/expanding rooms for the first time, cutting suspicious looking grass and collecting rupees.
It's the best Zelda game of the series in my opinion and the one game that got me hooked into the adventure genre and more importantly, the Zelda Universe.
This month, why don't you boot this game up. Play it on SNES if you still have one, the GBA port, or the Wii VC. Call yourself a gamer? Play this game.
