Puzzling indeed.

More as it develops?

Dementium 3, for the love of all that's good, Dementium 3.

Dementium 3D. C'mon, it's on 3DS.

Dementium 3 would be pretty cool. Though I admit I have yet to play Dementium 2...

Definitely interested in Bomb Monkey. I thoroughly enjoyed Mutant Mudds.

Dementium 2 is a mini-masterpiece, you should play it asap, it's a massive upgrade from Dementium 1. Moon is very good too.

I'll buy the bomb-monkey game, I'll buy any and every Renegade Kid game I can get may hands on, but my true hearts desire is a return to their 1st person horror past.

Did you buy ATV: Wild Ride? If not, get on it now, man!

Oh yeah, forgot about that one guess I won't buy "any and every" game they make, I mean I heard it's good but... maybe if I see it for $10 someday, ATVs aren't my thing.

Why, do you have something against crippling neck injuries?

Man Mutant Mudds is not even in the top 20 there. Dang. I hope Renegade Kid figures out a workable model for success on Nintendo platforms because they have been one of the big "indie" supporters so far.
If it were just a little cheaper (maybe $7.99), it probably would be a better seller.

Here's some news and impressions of the game, straight from PAX. Source is Nintendo World Report.

Here's my quick take of the situation:

POSITIVES:

+ Renegade Kid!
+ Cool new puzzle mechanic - seems interesting
+ Book style! Nice!

NEGATIVES:

- No online features whatsoever. (Booooo! HISS!)
- No stereoscopic 3D. (... eh, wut)

Well, how can they do stereoscopic 3D if it's book-style?

I'm just glad that book-style games are still around. I was worried we wouldn't see anymore because of the 3D effect, and Hotel Dusk and Last Window are two of my favorite DS games.

No 3D at all?! That's bizarre.

Yeah yeah I know. But still... a 3DS game without 3D? Hm. Seems kinda strange. Sounds like it doesn't even use the "top" screen at all!

But yeah, I do love book-style games, so maybe I won't miss it anyway.

They could still have it in some menus and stuff. I dunno. It will be weird if it is totally absent.

There was another eShop game announced that wasn't going to be 3D... One of Nicalis' ports. NightSky maybe?

One of the things I loved about the DS was it's versatility when it comes to the screens. Some games used primarily the bottom screen, some used the top screen, some were book-style, some used both screens together like one big screen -- there was just a whole lot of variety, which we haven't seen so much on the 3DS because of the focus on the 3D screen. So I'm glad to know that some games are able to forgo the 3D if they want to use the screens in a different way.

So while I like 3D, this makes me pretty happy.

EDIT: Yeah, NightSky was announced for the eShop without stereoscopic 3D.

@rebonack

Given Nicalis' track record of releases, we should NightSky by Q4 2013, yes? I remember when NightSky was supposed to be a WiiWare game...

Speaking of Nicalis, where the heck is La-Mulana? It came out in Japan almost a year ago.

@ludist210

Last I heard, NightSky and La-Mulana were both due out in Q1 2012.

Q1 2012? Isn't that.... right now?!?

@GameDadGrant

Q1 ended in March, yes? I like Nicalis, but they take their time with things. It took them two months to fix VVVVVV (it might have been closer to three), so I'm not holding my breath for La-Mulana or NightSky in THIS quarter.

Actually Q1 would be January through March, so they already missed it

I'm not surprised. La-Mulana has been on the release list every quarter for years now.
