@GuillaumeI couldn't agree more about the violence in games turning me off. When a game starts crossing into high levels of gore, it becomes a much harder sell for me.
For instance:
I have no problem with violent animations in something like Soul Calibur, but I wouldn't want to play that game if the hits resulted in blood spraying out.
I didn't buy Ninja Gaiden II because of the copious blood, but I did buy Sigma 2 when it came out to support the change they made by removing most of the blood.
I really appreciate games like Castle Crashers and Brutal Legend that allow for filters to turn off the gore (and bleep out the bad language).
It's not that I'm squeemish or can't handle the sight of those things, I just don't
want to see those things (or listen to that kind of language).
