Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Have you tried BIT.TRIP RUNNER, Cave Story, Mega Man 9 and LostWinds? Those are also up there for me. Oh, and Art Style Orbient.

No but I really want to try LostWInds. It looks really good. Cave Story too. I'm not into Mega Man, but possibly Runner as well. I haven't played any of the BIT.TRIP games other than the demo of FATE, which I didn't like.

Oh and NyxQuest. Man I wish Nintendo had demos of these games up so I could try them. Boo!

Fluidity's controls frustrate me too. I'll keep playing for a while since everyone says it gets better the further you get into it.

@WrathOfSamus777

I wouldn't judge the whole BIT.TRIP series based on FATE. It's not even a rhythm game.

@WrathOfSamus777
There used to be a Nyxquest demo, you missed it

About shake-to-jump in Fluidity... it's not like you need pixel perfect precision, it works well enough and even if you lose a bit of water, no big deal. That is your beef right, not that you just don't want to shake the controller?

@Secret_Tunnel
I might take the bait on Runner and buy it, but the two most highly recommended WiiWare titles, World Of Goo and Fluidity, I didn't care for much so I'm a little hesitant.

@anon_mastermind
No, it is because I don't want to shake the controller. It's not accurate and the 2-button is sitting there completely unused that could have easily been used to jump. It makes basic platforming a chore and it's poor game design that goes back to 1st generation Wii shovel-ware of mapping a basic button function to waggle. It's stupid, lazy, and completely pointless and I refuse to play it just as much out of principle as out of frustration. I hate that crap.

@WrathOfSamus777

To me, it doesn't fit the game's design to have jumping mapped to a button. But different strokes for different folks!

@Jargon
To me, having a basic button function mapped to waggle doesn't fit any game's design. Especially when you have unused buttons on the controller that you could use that would work infinitely better.

There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

@WrathOfSamus777 RUNNER and FATE are two completely different games. In general the BIT.TRIP series is more just a loose label, like the PixelJunk series or Art Style or whatever, although they do all have similar graphics and sounds and some vague connecting storyline. Gameplaywise though the only two that play alike are the first and last, BEAT and FLUX.

Anyway wasn't trying to put you on the spot, if Fluidity isn't doing it for you it isn't doing it for you. It's easily one of my favorite downloadable games though, on any platform.

I'll say this though, about "having unused buttons on the controller" by the end of the game this is not so true anymore. You get a LOT of power-ups in this game.

@Zero
I've heard nothing but good things about Runner and I heard it's very addicting. Radio Free Nintendo has championed that game like no one's business so I may have to try it. They described it in pretty full detail so I'm pretty sure I know what I'll be getting. And I know there won't be any waggle-jumping grrrr. Hopefully, Nintendo will eventually put up some more Club Nintendo games for download too so we'll see.

I may give Fluidity another shot down the road. It's not like I can trade it in or anything. I'm not a rage-gamer at all so when a game starts making me want to put my fist through the TV after repeated attempts, something isn't right.

I'm now re-playing NSMB on DS and all is right with the world. :)

I don't think Nintendo publishes the Bit.Trip games so they probably won't be available through Club Nintendo. Bit.Trip.RUNNER is really good though. You can get it cheaper on Steam if you prefer.

If you're going to check out RUNNER you may want to just get the whole collection on Wii (COMPLETE) which has all 6 BIT.TRIP games plus additional content for all of them and leaderboards. FATE was one of my least favorite to be honest, some of the others are better. And I have found the collection for as low as $20 already, probably could find it even cheaper if you keep an eye out.

I think it's weak to refuse to play a game just because you have to shake the remote. It's like the Mario galaxy shake to spin argument.

I wouldn't know since I never had any issues with Galaxy.

@Zero
Thanks, I'll keep an eye out. I'll probably try Runner at least.

RUNNER is half-off on Steam for the giant holiday sale.

@DrFinkelstein Haha, when I was talking to you about it, that's what I was thinking about in the back of my head. How cool is that?

The jumping in Fluidity is fine. Timing is everything.

As opposed to all the other games with jumping where timing doesn't matter at all. Thanks.
