Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Again still pretty curious to retry Paper Mario...I just know it won't be as compelling as Mario RPG or Superstar Saga for me. Still, maybe I can learn to like it.

New games:

Dr Mario Express (DSiWare on 3DS)
Puzzle League Express (DSiWare on 3DS)
Baseball (3DS VC)
Mario Golf (3DS VC)

Super Mario Bros. 2 (Wii U VC)
Star Fox 64 (Wii VC)
Excitebike (Wii U VC)
Vegas Stakes (Wii U VC)

I used to play Vegas Stakes with my aunt. Doubt it would have the same appeal today though. I guess I might just bite on whatever gets me the most Wii U DDP points. Puzzle League and Dr. Mario would be fun but...DSiWare? Are these "express" versions basically really stripped down versions of the games?

8 games? That's new. I'll update the OP soon.

Might be time for me to finally play Star Fox 64!

Wow! Does Nintendo actually go out of their way to pick the shittiest games out of their catalog? Seems so. You know, that Nintendo knows the majority of people already owns games like Starfox64 and Super Mario 2. The rest of that crap like baseball, excitebike, vegas stakes, ect are major suckage. I'd rather lose the coins than download crap like that.

Nintendo needs to up the ante and be more like Sony and actually give away games that are great and worth playing. If Nintendo keeps up being cheapass motherf'ckers, than they deserve another year of 'being in the red'.

@Jargon
From the looks of the rewards page, I'm willing to bet they're phasing out physical rewards altogether. That could account for the higher number of game options.
I hope I'm wrong.

@gamewizard65
Hey now. Puzzle League is quality stuff!
Admittedly, it's a more vanilla version of the game than previous entries (Tetris Attack, Pokemon Puzzle League, etc.) but it's nice to have available to play on the go.
EDIT - Hmm... Although, the "Express" version seems to be stripped-down, as @PogueSquadron hinted at.

It's missing the multiplayer aspect of the retail release.

Why do they do that??????

Yes, for the most part. They lack multiplayer features of any kind - it's basically just single-player mode only. They aren't bad if you are only looking for a quick pick up and play puzzle fix. But if you're looking for a robust portable version, you'll be out of luck.

I guess I'll grab Dr. Mario just to have a way to play it on my 3DS and since there's nothing else to spend my many coins on.

For the life of me, I don't understand why they are still offering stuff on the Wii. JUST OFFER THE DAMN GAME ON THE WII U. Jesus Christ it drives me nuts.

@ploot

It's a holdover from the days when Nintendo didn't want to cannibalize sales of the retail versions of these games. It's high time they provided us with feature-complete downloadable entries in these series, but apparently that's not a priority for them.

Hm. I'm considering getting Puzzle League, but I already have a SNES and N64 that works, both with their version of that game, and 97% of the time I play it, it's multi with my wife.

I think I just talked myself out of Puzzle League...

Fairly weak game selection aside, I do like that we're getting more titles to pick from, at least.

[ref=id=7000&pagenumber=59#413281]@Zero[/ref Most of us have though, on either the N64 or the Wii VC or the 3DS.

Unfortunately I think the days of us getting newer games through this program are gone, though maybe there's hope. They d have 8 games this month after all.

I'll pick up Dr. Mario. I used to have it on my DSi. It came bundled with the system, so when I transferred everything to my 3DS it had to stay behind. I've kinda missed it. I've been relegated to playing the Dr. Wario game that you unlock in Wario Ware.

I'd love a copy of Puzzle League, but I'd want the whole shebang. Isn't there a version of it in Japan? Something where we can have online leaderboards, compete with friends online, etc?

Also maybe I'm alone in this but I'm done with DSiWare. They just look so blurry compared to the native 3DS stuff. I wish Star Fox 64 was for Wii U. That'd be 100 DDP points at least, compared to the 80 I'd get from Vegas Stakes.

Is it sad that I'm basing my purchase on that? I actually used to like Vegas Stakes. And I guess it wouldn't be bad to have a casino game on the Wii U for before bedtime or whatever.

8 games this time? I have a feeling that Club Nintendo is moving towards digital-only rewards. Right now, there are only 5 physical rewards left, and I think it's been that way for a couple of months.

I'll probably grab the Puzzle League Express since I don't have Planet, and I'd never play local multiplayer and the online is no longer functional anyway. Are there any other differences between them? Just wondering, in case I came across a cheap copy of Planet.

If you guys like Mario Golf, the GB game gets my recommendation. It's still a 2D golf game, but the mechanics are really strong and the RPG elements make it addicting. I quite like it.

@TheOldManFromZelda
Yeah, they need to get N64 on the Wii U VC now.

Does anyone know what modes Dr. Mario Express has in it?

Also, a small correction for the topic list: the baseball game is for Game Boy, not NES.
