Why not sign up for a (free) account?

I'm hoping they replenish this soon.

Same here! I don't know how I missed this, and now I keep waiting for it to make its triumphant return.

That card case is cool, but after cracking the hinge on my DS, I got a carrying case for the 3DS, and it'll accommodate three spare games. When I think about it, I almost never have that many I'm playing all at once, so I didn't jump on the awesome 9-game case. Saving the coins for more games. They don't expire, do they? I just joined Club Nintendo a couple months ago.

@VickiL

It's not a 9 game case... it's 18! Not that it would make much difference.

And coins do expire after after a while. Taken from the Club Nintendo FAQ:

Yes. Unredeemed Coins expire after 2 Club Nintendo years (July 1-June 30).

Two years? Noooo~ Guess I'll have to remember when they were loaded and make sure I get something before then. I prefer longer games, and have far too much life interrupting my gaming lately, so I won't get very many coins in a two-year span. Woe is me, indeed.

@VickiL As is my understanding, the website will inform you of coins that are about to expire. So, you shouldn't have to worry about losing coins, because you'll be alerted when you have some that are about to disappear, and be able to spend them.

@Mop it up
Really? How does that work, exactly? Have you gotten a message?

I'm totally paranoid about this stuff.

Also, old games that haven't been registered never expire, right? As long as they were released after Club Nintendo started?

I have not gotten the message personally, but have seen others claim to get such a message. They said it appeared next to their coin balance. This is why I said it was "my understanding," as I can't verify it 100%, but why would so many people lie about it?

As far as registrations go, that's a tough one. On the old Club Nintendo, when you registered a game, its survey would expire five years after the release date of the game. This applied to games released after Club Nintendo's inception in December 2008, but ones released before that are sporadic. Some older games still used their release date, while others use a date around when Club Nintendo went live. I haven't seen any consistencies to figure out which is which.

In any case, going on what I know of this, I'm thinking that registrations are good for five years from the release date of a game? I don't know if it's actually been five years since any of the game's dates, so this is just a guess based on the old survey dates. Here is a list of every game that can be registered for coins, you can check it and try to figure out if any game that you gained coins for is no longer listed:

https://club.nintendo.com/eligible-products.do

Notice how Super Mario 64 DS is still listed, despite being released in 2004. So, personally, I'm registering games based on the assumption that they expire after five years from its release date, unless it's an older game that's still in production, like Super Mario 64 DS. But I really have no idea, and if you or anyone else finds better insight, please share it with me!

Yeah it says that your coins are about to expire when the time comes so no need to worry about it.

Surprise boxes are up as rewards. 300 coins each and they supposedly include items that have a total value of 500+ coins.

@anon_mastermind

That sounds like a terrible deal, especially for people who have already bought stuff with their coins. You'll most likely get something you don't want or need.

I was gonna get one but they're already sold out anyway.

@Guillaume
I don't own any fans, towels, or anything in the 200-ish price range, really. If I get a duplicate or something I don't want I'll give it to a friend. Ordered the Goomba box.

New game selection for May:

Pictobits (Nintendo 3DS) - 150 points
Snowpack Park (Wii) - 150 points
3D Classics: Urban Champion (Nintendo 3DS) - 150 points
Eco Shooter: Plant 530 (Wii) - 200 points

Can't seem to access or order any of them right now, but they're pictured on the main page.

[EDIT: Can you guys recommend me anything? Snowpack Park is from Skip, Eco Shooter is from Intelligent Systems (I like both developers but the reviews aren't great)...not interested in Urban Champion and I am interested in Pictobits.]

Yeah, Pictobits is very good. I also have it.

Eco Shooter: Plant 530 look like it might be a nice hidden gem. I seriously considering it. Check out the trailer.
