Nintendo of America is releasing Xenoblade Chronicles to North Americans exclusively at Gamestop and via Nintendo's online store.

Official website.

Nintendo of America said:
It’s man vs. machine in a new game coming to Nintendo’s Wii™ console in spring. Xenoblade Chronicles™ asks players to use the Monado blade to take on a seemingly endless series of invading Mechon robots in a sweeping role-playing adventure.

The main character is Shulk, a weapons researcher who must confront the Mechon by wielding the ancient Monado blade. It’s the only weapon that has any effect against the Mechon, and it also enables Shulk to see the future.

Players can customize their characters with a variety of weapons and armor choices, as well as headgear, boots and gloves. As in many role-playing games, players can then gain experience and upgrade their characters. Players can watch their enemies, learn their tactics and unleash real-time counterattacks.

The vast open world of Xenoblade Chronicles is ripe for exploration. Players can avert their focus from the main story and venture out looking for other challenges and side quests. Hidden areas and unique monsters are scattered throughout the game’s massive world, which players can explore freely.

Xenoblade Chronicles has already launched in Japan and Europe, and has received unanimously positive reviews, including several perfect scores.

Xenoblade Chronicles will be available exclusively through U.S. GameStop retail locations, http://www.gamestop.com and http://www.nintendo.com at a suggested retail price of $49.99 in the United States. Additional information about the game will be announced in the future. For more information, visit http://xenobladechronicles.nintendo.com.

@ChuyMasta

We've heard from everyone else, Chuy, why do you have a grudge against the store?

Its not like they kicked your dog or something.

Bump for date confirmation and official website.

Is everyone all pre-order/reserved up?

Not yet; money is a little tight for me right now. I've still got a couple months to preorder though, which I plan on doing before its release.

I'm all set: I can't wait till the big N delivers... just over 2 months away.

I have my copy preordered. I tried to get it from Nintendo's online store the day it was made available, but had to go GameStop instead, as just with their backwater eShop and Wii Shop, Nintendo's online store only takes Visa and Mastercard. Bleh. But, at least this way I'll have it in hand the day it releases.

Just read that. Hooray free swag! I was hoping for a CC Pro since Reggie sort of hinted at it in the Nintendo Direct video, but...I'll take an art book.

That sure is tempting. I wonder how good the art book is? Some can be great, some are wastes of space. Hmm...

Think I may still get it via Nintendo's site.

@-JKR-

Really? I've never come across a "waste of space" art book. Gamestop tie-in books are usually pretty good.

Tales of Symphonia one was awesome. I probably said that before somewhere.

@-JKR- I have downloaded the japanese version of the Artbook. I can tell you, it's NOT a waste of space.

This kind of sucks if true. Xenoblade is only available at GameStop through pre-order.

"Here's a bit of news I didn't realize, and I'm still not sure it's spot-on. We're hearing that Xenoblade Chronicles is only going to be available at GameStop for those that preorder. That means you won't actually be able to walk into a GameStop store, grab it off the shelf and purchase. We'll try and get the confirmation/denial on this soon. Thanks to Autosaver for the heads up."

@WrathOfSamus777

Considering the situation, that's not entirely unlikely. Wouldn't be surprised in the least.

Most people that want this game already know it's coming and have gone through the appropriate channels to nab it. This *shouldn't* be the case, but... it is what it is.

I doubt it is "only" going to be available for those who preorder, how would that even work? Nintendo is going to have to make an initial production that logically is not going to be taken up 100% by preorders and they're going to want to sell those disks.

One month to go. Wow.

Snuck right up, didn't it?

I'll be getting this game on day one, but I shudder to think of what it's going to do to my backlog. It's gonna be a horror show...

I ready to roll, whenever the game ships. I'm all pre-ordered and even got it completely paid off.

One month to go...
