The new Nintendo 3DS game, Super Mario 3D Land, which landed in stores Nov. 11, has become the fastest-selling portable Mario game in company history, selling more than 500,000 units since launch, says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime.
Also mentioned is that Skyward Sword is the fastest selling Zelda game ever. For Nintendo having a year that had next to nothing for game releases, they sure ended it on a high note. This holiday will provide some good numbers for them it seems!
I just picked this game up today. I got it by trading in some old undesirables. Ima start this new thing where I only buy games I know ima keep for a while instead of all the time. I may get gamefly back when I start working to avoid wasting money on one and dones.
This game is fantastic! I'm loving the gameplay and how it feeds familiar but new. The visuals are amazing, really makes me thing galaxy could be ported to this system some day.

I literally just read this quote that makes me think that Galaxy on 3DS won't happen.
"When we started developing the game, we displayed Super Mario Galaxy 2 on a small TV monitor and found that Mario looked like a speck and that the game was difficult to play. This led us to look into the camera and terrain types that would be conducive to playing on a portable screen with a relatively large Mario. If we were making a console game, from the very start, we wouldn't have been thinking about any of those things, and I think the game would have probably been a lot different."
Explains their reasoning for the zoomed in view that some have complained about.
Mario U should be a very interesting game because it will still incorporate the 2D aspects of 3D Land and it won't have this limitation.
So cutting 80 bucks off the 3DS's price was a smart move after all. I'll be darned. I haven't bought the game yet, but I'm looking foward to play it. Mario Kart 7 is, still, top priority though.
