Negative World is at it AGAIN (will they ever quit? sheesh!) with another podcast for your listening pleasure. Cryojin and Gamewizard65 join DrFinkelstein during his first hosting gig ever! They start off with some discussion about Twilight Princess and Gears of War 3, only to finish it off old school with Donkey Kong 94' and DuckTales 2 chatter.
Then, the crew discusses the social stigmas found in the gaming community before launching into an all out drool-fest over Super Mario 3D Land. Finally, DrFink yet again introduces a topic where he agrees with both sides of the argument and thus negates himself in a rousing discussion about the Mario Kart series and why it hasn't gone full throttle in a "Brawl-esque" manner.
From the 00:47:53 min mark thru the 00:49:07 min mark are some light Super Mario 3D Land post-game spoilers. From the 01:14:19 min mark thru the 01:15:52 min mark are Mario Kart 7 New Character spoilers. You have been warned, both here and in the podcast!
As usual, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner and dictator, Zero. The music throughout the podcast is taken from the Mario Kart series.

Nice job on the Grant and Stache call-outs, Fink! Though no mention of why you're suddenly hosting the podcast; no word about me not leaving the podcast forever, just taking a break? That's a little weird, lol.
I've already thanked Grant, but: thank you for your role in saving me some work, haha.
You sound good, Cryo; and Tom, I hope you felt you got to talk more than the last time! You guys sound like you had fun.
Holy crap, though, I envy you guys for having enough down time to play games on the job. There is just no way I could get away with it. I could use some relaxation time (other than constantly updating NW to see what you guys posted). It's hard to leave the computer.
Tom, you should talk with stache about thumb acid. He won't let people touch his controllers because of it, and no one believes him when he talks about it! You may also get your wish for a 3D Link to the Past.
Haha, Mario fuzzy dice. The ultimate chick magnet!
Weeeelllll.... I really only get time to play my games during my breaks at work. But still, 15 minutes is plenty for my 3DS, 30 if I take both my breaks. I do have to post a minor correction to my discussion on the Gears of War story. Quick note though, I apologize for the bumbling through that part. There is a lot of story involving Gears, and it was tough trying to cram the gist of it into a few minutes. The game is complimented very well by its novels, written by Karen Traviss, and the comics. The correction was about the pardoning of the prisoners. It was actually Colonel Hoffman, head of the COG (Coalition of Ordered Governments) military who pardoned the prisoners, but I think it safe to assume there was at least some discussion with Chairman Prescott. Still an amazing game with an enjoyable story and great multiplayer.
Glad you enjoyed the episode! The song at 37:48 is from Mario Kart DS. It's Tick Tock Clock. One of my favorite tracks ever.
Glad you liked the new segment also. Though, for purposes of my podcast hosting... it's "What do you Fink?" I tend to slur words together so it probably wasn't clear.
Glad you liked the mario sfx too. I felt it would help cue people in. Okee-dokee was perfect for the finish.
And it's not that I've taken over nor that I didn't want to acknowledge Gui for some reason. I thought about it. Simply though, he and I both started the podcast and we're always meant to both be bigger parts on it. I didn't clearly because I got wrapped up in things but I want to be more of a part of it now. That said, if I acknowledged his absence, it almost makes it feel like it's some rarity but he shouldn't necessarily be expected to have to be on each one, nor should it be expected I'm some kind of filler host you know?
I plan on being on the next podcast too. Gui should join despite there being Ploot and Pogue. I'm fine with four people again. But I definitely just didn't wanna make it seem like I was some kind of pseudo fill-in. Not that you were assuming or anything. I was just responding.
I'm digging this chance to be a commenter instead of a commentee (?), lol.
It seems slower than usual, but I'm sure it's due to SS being out. Nintendolife tweeted that their site's hits took a dive yesterday.
I too liked the in-depth Super Mario 3D Land discussion. It did inspire a roundtable, after all! Perhaps I would have made the spoiler warning a little longer however, someone listening on his iPod and who cared would barely have time to pull on the earbud's cord, haha. And I missed cryojin during that segment...
As far as the social stigma goes, well, I'm pretty damn withdrawn on myself most of the time (but I lead I rich internal life?), so the stereotypes apply to me. That said, I haven't really run into people in real life mocking my gaming habit or bashing me for liking Nintendo. If anything, my non-gamer roommate supposedly defended Nintendo in the GameCube era in some situation I don't remember the details of. Someone said the Cube was kiddie, and my roommate told him about the M-rated games I had played on it. When he told me about that afterwards, I probably played devil's advocate and told him that reputation came from somewhere, haha.
Maybe not saying anything would work if it had been the 4th episode or something, but in the 22nd? It's just weird, haha. You don't want people to think you're being a filler host, well, that's why you explain. That said, every listener being here pretty much, I doubt there's much confusion.
...but in a thousand years, when man has colonized space and comes back to the fabled Earth, and the only records of civilization they find is this podcast, well, those people will be confused as hell!
Aye, DrFink asked well in advance if I was getting it. I am, but I'm short on $, and what little I had went to getting Skyward Sword, so yeah, I had little to add... er, nothing to add really in the Mario 3D Land discussion.
I'm about to hop in the car and drive 5 hours to New Jersey for T-Giving. I'll post my thoughts sometime in the next few days when I find a break from the in-laws!
No big deal about not talking so much on my first podcast. Actually, I really didn't like my topic and other that your topic, operation rainfall, I really didn't have awhole lot of input. I'm kindof like that in real life, just depends on what is being discussed. Sometimes I may have alot to say, other times not much at all. Overall, I am usually kind of quiet, which just comes naturally for whatever reason.
So, again, no biggie. Don't worry, if I had more to say, I would have said it.
Also, Fink had mentioned you worry about the podcasts and all, and don't get me wrong, I understand. If it is something I care about, or if it falls on my shoulders, I never think its good enough or I worry too much. I've listened to many podcasts in the past and I think all your podcasts are just as good, and probably better than all the rest. How, some of em Ive listened to multiple time. You are doing a great job!
