3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure (OUT NOW on 3DS)

Well... hey Guillaume! I think I know a great way for me to give the Kirby franchise a real chance again.

Apparently Kirby's Adventure is coming to 3DS as a 3D Classic! That seems pretty cool. There's a preview on non-NA 3DS services. Hopefully it comes to the NA soon. I wanna see how this looks in action!

Why not sign up for a (free) account and create your own content?
The other didn't have extras, but they were re-tooled somewhat with a nice presentation (for example, Twinbee has leaderboards and Urban Champion has a different gameplay perspective). I wonder if they tweaked Kirby at all.

Yeah, I'm at least hoping for something like that. Unlocking the Hard mode from the start would be nice, too (though very un-Nintendo).

But you know, I'm saying all this and the fact is I probably won't pick it up anytime soon no matter what. I'm drowning in retail handheld games right now and then I still want Freaky Forms.

Kirby's nice and all but I'm still playing KRTD on the Wii, and still 100%-ing Mass Attack.

I don't understand why Nintendo is milking Kirby so much in a 3 month period.

There's never such a thing as too much Kirby!

As far as extras go, I'll be happy with a more consistent framerate.

Have YOU tried to keep up with all these releases!?

Nope, I pace myself.

Hm, I forgot about Twinbee. I should probably check that one out.

I downloaded Kirby's Adventure today. I've played and beaten it before (loooong time ago on NES) but I've never actually owned it. And it's been a long enough time since I played it that I think I can snag it guilt-free.

Just bought Kirby's Adventure 3D Classic. I'm really digging the look. I went with full 3D with the lights on (go into the game settings). This games really makes me want to see the Super Mario Bros. NES Trilogy redone as 3D Classics.

Downloaded and beat the first world! Game still holds up nicely. The 3D doesn't skew the perspective like ExciteBike, but it looks nice and clear, and the game is as strong as ever.

I think I may actually buy this 3D remake of NES Kirby, cause I never played any of he kirby games, except for Epic Yarn last year and that really isn't like any of the normal kirby games. So yea, I will give this Kirby a try.

Question for those in the know: Is this NES Kirby like the first Kirby game ever? If not, where does it stand, like the 2nd,3rd or what? Thanks!

When usin the circle pad, do you have to double tap to run?

It's the second after Kirby's Dreamland on the Game Boy. Which is on the VC, and I reviewed it here. On a phone though, so I can't link.

I always remembered enjoying KDL2 more. I think I just preferred it as a portable kind of game.

It'll be a shame when KDL2 hits the eShop because they won't be able to use the Super Game Boy enhancements :(.

Beat the first level as well. The 3D isn't as pronounced as Excitebike or Xevious (the two 3D Classics games I've played), but it's still well executed and looks nice.

I'm happy to report that the framerate was fixed and the graphical mess on the right side of the screen is not present. Excellent job, Akira!

For those who care: Retronauts is discussing Kirby! I haven't listened to it yet.

Having turned into a Kirby fanboy in the last year or two, I'm fairly sure they won't give the series enough credit. But we'll see...

@Guillaume I so love you became a Kirby fan recently, his games seem to get overlooked by a lot of gamers because of Zelda/Mario/Donkey Kong etc. Kirby rocks! Have you played every Kirby game? Even the spinoffs?
