BALLOON KID?!?

There's also a new episode of the "Nintendo Show" that's viewable on the eShop.

So it's this game, right?

Cool. I would have preferred the color version, but whatevs.

@Guillaume
I would also much have preferred the GBC version, but it's an import and with today's release, chances are we'll never get it. God damn, the colours are so vibrant on the GBC version. *grumble*

ARGH, why did you remind me? I was so happy!

I can actually see Nintendo double-dipping...

So it turns out that Cut the Rope was also part of this update.

Anand went all day not knowing he could have been playing his favorite game.

Yeah, I noticed it said "NEW" in the eShop next to it. Odd that they didn't mention what could be a best-seller (and the best DSiWare game this week).

@Guillaume

Crazy! I wonder where the mistaken was - did the person who wrote the Press Release accidentally forget to add this to the list, or was Cut the Rope uploaded to the eShop early?

Either way, I guess this makes this week's eShop update worthwhile.

I got Balloon Kid and it's fun! I don't know how long it is, but I made it to the end of stage 4. Definitely recommended if you like Balloon Fight. The game has quite a few nods to the NES original. The controls are an upgrade, the music is good (especially the end-stage music, just wow). The gameplay is simple but fun. You can let go of your balloons and do some platforming here and there. Then, you can blow up more balloons and fly again. Simple but fun stuff.

WTF!! I'm so excited!! I was wondering when it would show up, since it was in Nintendo Power a while ago.

Is it $5 on iPhone??

@Anand

It's 99 cents on iPhone. $5 on DSiWare. Cha-ching!

It wouldn't sell at 5 dollars on the iPhone, heh.

@anon_mastermind

This game... becomes kind of a dick in stage 6. It's probably my fault for not figuring it out earlier, but I lost 12 lives at a certain jump.

Hint: If it looks like you don't have time to make new balloons, YOU DON'T.

Yep, I agree with your assessment. I used my first continue on stage 6 and finally got game over on stage 8 (I think it may be the last stage).
