Double Dragon for Game Boy leads the way in this week's unique Nintendo Download.

eShop Exclusives
Double Dragon
(Nintendo, Virtual Console, $3.99)
Dreamworks Animation Halloween Collection (Dreamworks, downloadable videos, $1.99 each)

DSiWare (also available in the eShop)
Castle Conqueror
(Circle Entertainment LTD, 500 points/$4.99)

WiiWare
Fish Tank
(iFun4all, 500 points)

Nintendo Video
Night of the Living Carrots
(Part 2)

Source.

I said unique because this is the first time that we've ever had videos for sale in the eShop. It shows Nintendo is at least adapting to the changing world of digital downloads.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Well that explains why they don't want us to save videos from Nintendo Video for permanent use.

I wonder if Fish Tank is any good...?

Hmm.

So we're seeing 3D videos on the store before 3D eShop games beyond the Gameloft golf game.

NOA, you're weird.

@Guillaume

Zen Pinball 3D is coming next month, but outside of that and VVVVV, I don't think many American developers have announced anything.

@anon_mastermind

Oh yeah, those too...and they're both launching this year, no?

Could be... we don't know yet if eShop publishing will be burdened with the hoops they had to jump through on WiiWare.

Well, at the very least, the file size limit is significantly higher (Let's Golf 3D is something like 220 MB, way more than the old 40 MB limit) and I'm assuming some form of demo service is getting ready to launch. I would hope so anyways...I'm more likely to buy a game if I can try it first.

Hopefully the "conference" tomorrow Nintendo is holding about the 3DS will shed some light on what they're planning on doing with the eShop.

Aww, I thought Zen Pinball was coming out this month!

There's no price next to the video...

Is there anything interesting about this version of Double Dragon?

Oh wow, it's $2 EACH video!?! I originally thought it was $2 for the pack.

Aren't they all like 5 minutes long? $2 is the price of an old 42-minute episode of a TV show in SD on most video services, and that's already a rip-off!

@Guillaume

Okay, but let's say you're going about the legal way of purchasing an music video from iTunes. A 2D music video on iTunes costs $1.99 plus tax. These 3D shorts (which are longer than most music videos) are $1.99 plus tax. Sounds fair to me if that's your thing.

@ludist210

I wasn't aware of the pricing of music videos on iTunes. I wasn't aware that they were available for sale at all.

Doesn't seem like a good value to me. Makes $2 per 42-minute episode of a show seem like a bargain in comparison.

And it makes the people complaining about Netflix raising their price look like ridiculous whiners!

Yeah, I didn't know you could buy music videos until just recently, actually. Pretty stupid, if you ask me.

So like, is there officially never another Virtual Console game coming again?

@Mr_Mustache

56 days is a long time, I agree.

Double Dragon 2 is coming from Aksys, we know that. And supposedly Sega is still trying to get Wonder Boy 4 over here.

What happened to Lufia?

@Mr_Mustache

I don't know.

Last December we read that the game had been rated by the ESRB. I thought for sure it was coming soon.

And then nothing.

And I think they only have a year to release the game before that rating expires, too. I don't think it's coming.

You people haven't bought enough Natsume (?) VC games and they pulled the plug, I bet.
