Yeah, time just flew by playing Four Swords. We got pretty competitive and it was really fun! Gui got so mad at one point that he put a hole through the wall!

@Zero
It was semi-organized, I assure you. Actually, we hadn't planned on playing Four Swords but the timing of its release was perfect.

@GameDadGrant I don't think anyone ever suggested it had 2 GB internal storage?! Considering that most stuff can be saved to SD now, they probably didn't put much internal in? My 2GB SD card is about 14,000 blocks of storage while my internal memory is about 1,000 blocks. So I'd guess 128 MB of internal storage or so?

@Zero

The DSi has 512MB. I'm fairly sure I heard the 2GB thrown around for the 3DS?

Have you taken any pics with it?

Yeah but I have it set to save photos to SD card. I don't think there is any way the system can be 2GB internal memory, like I said I have about 1/14th of the storage as my SD card. Actually that isn't even counting all of the photos saved to the SD card.

Cool. Ive never played any of the 4 swords game. So, this will be brand new for me. I will only play the single player game. I really dont care if I ever actually get to play with other people or not. I know my son downloaded the game, so maybe sometime we will get together and play the multiplayer version.

@Zero

Maybe you had taken the SD card out for some reason and took a bunch of pics?

I dunno. I have no DSiware on my 3DS save Four Swords.

I really doubt it's 128MBs. It's at least 512MBs. The DSi does fill up fast. 13 games, if they include stuff like Shantae and Pictobits, would definitely fill it up.

I thought the DSi only had like 64 MB of space? Mine is always being filled up with only a few games. The 3DS has a 2 gig SD card included though you can take it out and look at it.

Guillaume I think you're thinking about Wii, it definitely has 512 MB of internal storage.

EDIT: According to Wikipedia the DSi has 256 MB internal storage, which is a lot more than I thought it had. I wonder why I'm always having to delete games whenever I add something?

@gamewizard65
You should definitely try to get together to play, it's much more fun in multiplayer.

I still don't understand why DSi Shop downloads don't go on the SD card. So strange.

It was an anti-piracy measure taken by Nintendo for the DSi. By "blocking" the ability for games and apps to run straight off the SD card, it put a (temporary) stopper on pirated games.

They didn't do that for the 3DS since the new handheld can get periodic firmware updates far more often (and more seamlessly, apparently) than the older system.

@deathly_hallows
Because the games can still be pretty big.

@deathly_hallows

Games get up to 40 MB (at least on Wii they do, so I'm assuming the same for DSi) and I would bet not all of that memory is available for downloads. Some has to be for the OS itself.

@Guillaume Nah never took it out, and double, triple, quadruple checked everything and I have no photos saved on the internal memory and I only have about 1,000 blocks of internal memory on my 3DS. Is this wrong? How many blocks do you guys have?

345,000.

GTFO. INTERNAL MEMORY not SD card.

My internal memory has 942 blocks open. The only DSiWare game I have downloaded is The Legend of Zelda: 4 Swords.

But see, it is about 1,000 blocks total, right? And then a 2 GB SD card is about 14,000? blocks total. So the usable system memory is only about 128 MB. I'm sure the system memory is more than that, but it needs to be able to hold other stuff like system updates and such, right? Or is that something totally different?

Whatever the case, if you like downloading DSiWare games, you're probably going to run out of space. And I don't totally get why something new like this 4 Swords has to be on the system memory as well.

It is pretty stupid. It makes sense that they did that as a piracy measure or whatever, but they did the same with the Wii and that was eventually changed. They really need to do the same for DSiWare, at the very least on the 3DS so that it's consistent where the software downloads to. Having eShop games download to the SD card and DSiWare to the internal memory is just dumb.

Uh, I'm at this boss in the ice caves and I don't know if it's glitched... I'm supposed to hit it with the correct Link color (surprise! ) but every time I switch to that Link, the boss switches his color over to the opposite one. I can't hit it at all.

EDIT: Uh okay, apparently I wasn't supposed to hit it with that color... weird.

@VofEscaflowne

You're supposed to co-ordinate on that one. For example as the Blue Link you'll see the Green Link's target. You need to tell the other person which one that is because it appears grey to them. In your case, you ARE the other Link so you just have to hit the target you saw in the other view.

Me, I just ran into what I think is a glitch in the retro LoZ stage. I'm in the Graveyard area of Western Hyrule fighting a ghost...but I can't hit it. It's like it's floating too high. I spent 10 mins trying everything. Nothing. Had to give up and turn it off.

Going to give it another crack later and see if it reoccurs.

How am I supposed to beat Vaati in single player mode? I keep switching between both guys throwing bomb after bomb, trying to time them well enough to get that son of a bitch down to the ground (and I only did it successfully once). I hate boss battles like this.
