Negative World Podcast is evolving! Zero, ploot and Guillaume start by talking about the games they have been playing: Ghost Trick, God of War 3, The Longest Journey, The Legend of Zelda, Space Invaders Extreme 2, Gargoyle's Quest and Demon's Crest! Whew.

As if it weren't enough, they also dig into the topics of the day: how special circumstances may influence our enjoyment of certain games, hacking your Wii and general homebrew talk, and the announced free GBA games for Ambassadors: Mario VS Donkey Kong, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island, Metroid Fusion and WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$.

Tons and tons of content. And bear with us and the poor sound at the beginning: it gets better.

As usual, the theme music comes from Negative World's owner and dictator, Zero. The rest of the soundtrack is taken from Yoshi's Island.

Comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, the host, etc. on Negative World! Or, be a weirdo and post them on Facebook or Twitter instead.

Oh and there's one thing even great podcasts can always use more of........

British accents!

Bring Warerare back for another episode =p

Oh, and I apologize for the iffiness of my sound quality early on. We had a mega storm that day and my DSL was being kind of shoddy for a bit. I even got booted once mid-podcast, though Guillaume probably edited it nicely and you never notice. But I think the sound quality got better later on.

@rebonack Ok fine, upon looking at our rankings I see that Zero Mission is more highly rated here than Fusion is. Maybe it is just a few key people I know that put down Zero Mission so much.

@Robknoxious1 I'm the one who kept pushing for the three person format...

@warerare
Thanks for not getting peepee'd at our amazing British accents.

@ploot

I laughed so hard at your impression.

Also, hooray for Yoshi's Island music, one of my favorite game soundtracks.

I say "like" way too damn much in this podcast. I need to get more used to just saying what I want to say.

No, use 'like' more. Then I'll seem like less of a valley girl.

@Robknoxious1
Hey, I resemble that comment!

You should jump on the podcast, too! It's easy. You just talk, and stuff.

@ploot

I found it funny, nothing like taking the piss out of the English, you should watch Torchwood if you want to copy some funny Welsh accents or just listen to this guy.

EDIT: Wow I just posted this and didn't realize how long it would be. Just begging for a tl;dr

Wanted to say I really liked the format of this episode. The "What are we playing" section added a lot and I can only imagine will help add some content as people start running low on new topic ideas (maybe/hopefully that will never happen).

As far as the "What are we playing?" segment: T'was good, but it probably went on too long. I wanted to hear you guys get to your topics a bit sooner. That said, I'd hate for the discussion to be limited to only one game a piece
Guillaume said:
And imagine: I cut out a significant amount of rambling! Not sure how we can limit the time spent on that in the future, though, other than limiting the number of games.
I personally didn't feel the segment lasted too long but I probably would say that if it ran twice as long so I'm probably not the best judge. As long as it flows well, doesn't have long pauses, awkward transitions or people talking over each other I'm fine with a long podcast and waiting for the show topics to start. Now if I knew the topic was something epic like.... oh I don't know, maybe Operation Rainfall succeeding or some special new info about Wii U or something like that I might feel different.

I like totally give my two daughters a hard time when they like do that and stuff. Especially like when I'm like teaching them in our like homeschool class. It can be like totally annoying.

Of course then if I ever slip and say it I never hear the end of it. Yeah, paybacks are rough.

Ah okay then. Credit where credit is due. Good call. Good thing I got my new glasses or my middle-aged eyes couldn't have read that small type.

Um yeah while (like I said earlier) I thought you did great on the podcast your British accent impressions were definitely not the type of British accents I was asking for =p

I just made the chick comment cuz you mentioned in an episode I was re-listening to recently that people on the boards had said you sounded like a girl and you were gonna proceed in a Barry White voice =)

I'd be happy to try podcasting with you guys sometime. Not sure how much I could add to the discussion. I'd probably be nervous with the "millions" of listeners (at least it would feel that way).

I like this @Robknoxious1 guy.
There aren't millions of listeners, just one million.
Or 50. I dunno.

@ploot

50 right now is pretty accurate. Half of the numbers we used to pull!

I'll just mention, in the least passive-aggressive manner I can manage, that despite asking nicely for people to spread the word about the podcast, only Zero and myself "like" the post about the podcast on Facebook.

Just sayin'!

I haven't been on Facebook much lately. But off I goooooooo.....

Maybe you need to bring in better talent. My crazy sound effects just aren't enough.
Wah.

Sorry, not on Facebook or Twitter or else I would for sure. I know that there has to be a lot of Nintendo fans that would love the site/podcast but just haven't heard about it. I did post a review on iTunes today if that helps. I searched Nintendo today looked through all the podcast results. NW was on page 6. I was bummed to find out that a podcast I used to listen to but hasn't released a podcast since July 2010 came up #1 page one.

@Robknoxious1

An iTunes review does help! Thanks!

@rebonack

You had already mentioned it on twitter this Monday, but thanks!

And I'm eagerly anticipating the day you'll be able to make it on the podcast.

Maybe the next one. Not the one upcoming, but the one after that? I'd definitely like to.

Listening to the latest podcast got me thinking about modding my Wii. Not so much for Xenoblade at this point but for some of the other cool things that could be done. For one thing I have a fair amount of TG-16 games and it would be nice to be able to play them without dragging out the old console with all the cords. Sounds like Ploot (Paul) is very happy he did it, Guillaume as well but perhaps not quite as enthusiastic as Paul. EDIT: maybe it was just some of the apps/games you weren't impressed with.

I'm so lame at anything too technical. But Paul does say it's easy. Hmmm......

Wow! Thanks guys for the special mention at the end of the episode! (and especially for the wedding congrats!) I think it's a great idea to highlight some the great contributions by our community members.

Ploot, you're a great podcast'er kind of guy. You bring a lot to the table during the discussions, and your personalized sound effects are pretty funny.

Overall, it was another good episode! I enjoyed the Now Playing section. I've been wanting to play Ghost Trick (appreciate ploot's review!).

Zero's topic was very interesting. That's really cool to hear the circumstances under which he played 999. That game is morbid enough as it is, I can't imagine playing it on a dark train ride, alone...

And wow, that was a long 'post-episode' discussion, but I liked it.

How's posting feel now that you're hitched? Crazy, man, crazy!

I had a lot of fun doing the podcast.

Ploot, you are the Michael Winslow of Negative World.

Super Circuit, FOREVER the Rodney Dangerfield of the Mario Kart series. MKSC did not introduce the back-and-forth drift boost, you guysss. It actually ditched it, instead using a very technical, totally unspammable radial boost. You had to release the drift at just the right time to get one.

@Robknoxious1
Heh, they didn't say that I sounded like a chick. They thought I was one (and possibly fell in love with me).
