Shit! It comes out 356 days before my birthday... NO Three Fiddy SEVEN days because next year is a leap year! How am I gonna wait so long for this?

Oh wait... that means it's 9 days AFTER my bday THIS year.

New Negative World policy: Any and all game releases shall no longer given as absolute dates. Rather they shall be expressed in terms of relative time-distance fom member's birthdays.

I think we can all agree that such a system is superior

@Shadowlink
Agreed.

I'm hyped for SS but my hype levels have changed for most games in recent years. Only games which I think will smack my ass like a baby (not sure what that means) truly get me CHILDISHLY HYPED.

I'd say I'm more hyped for stuff like RAGE and BF3 over Zelda. But that's, again, not to say I ain't hyped. It's just more of a hype I can control. And Zelda SS doesn't seem like the overhauling I was expecting from the series. Still a bit burned out by that. Also, I don't expect it to do Zelda TP which was quite close to Zelda perfection to me (and the best 3D Zelda IMO).

Launching Thanksgiving week? Super awesome news to be sure. That'll give me all week to do nothing but play Zelda and put my Christmas trees up... Two of my favorite things! Or I could put my trees and decorations up earlier in the month, and spend the entire week playing Zelda in fully a decorated house... I don't know... That may bring me more joy than I'm used to handling!

That does paint a pretty picture, doesn't it?

It will be a wonderful Thanksgiving week indeed! I will never forget one of my favorite Thanksgiving weeks: 1998, Ocarina of Time. Nintendo sure knows how to time their releases!

One of only three worthwhile games on Wii this year, and most likely the best. Bring it.

I think by the time Skyward Sword approaches release, it will be my most-hyped Zelda game ever. Don't quite think it'll beat out Smash Bros Brawl in the hype department, though

@roykoopa64

I'm sure that was a good week, and I can certainly relate. I played a bit of Twilight Princess when it released, but really didn't sink my gaming teeth into it until the week of Christmas. I think I put in 40-50 glorious hours in that week alone. It was blissful.

@Cubed777

Actually I make a birthday/Christmas list each year (as does my sister since her b-day is December 22nd), since it's become too hard for guess work these days.

I think maybe I can and will just wait until Christmas for Zelda since it's a big game, and my brother will most likely want to play it too, and if it's given to me as a birthday gift, then it would seem like it's my game and he would need permission from me to play it. I'll probably just ask for MW3 for my birthday instead (that will at least give me a few days to see if the mass exodus from Infinity Ward affected the quality at all, or if it's still a good game).

I often save games for Christmas day too... NEVER Zelda though. o_O I simply cannot wait for Skyward Sword.

I think Zelda and Super Mario 3D Land would make great Christmas gifts, so I think that's what I'll ask for this year. It's going to be hell waiting for those two titles, but I'll actually feel like a kid again on Christmas morning!

Cool, it releases on my unbirthday.

Yeah Zelda just feels more like a Christmas time kind of game to me. It's a big, epic adventure that will take many hours to complete, so you'll need the Christmas break to do so (even though I'm not in school right now and don't technically get a Christmas break). I can't wait for it, yet I can wait for it.

I think I finish student teaching around mid-December, so I'll have a nice big break at that point. Except I'll probably go back to work right away. Except actually I might just take a week or two off before going back to work. We'll see.

Whatever the case, this will be my "you made it through student teaching!" present to myself. Unless I don't make it through and go crazy and drop out of the program. In which case it will be my "you never have to teach again!" present to myself.

I wasn't really excited for Skyward Sword until recently... but now I'm expecting it to be one of the best games in the series. If it isn't, perhaps Nintendo should either give it a rest for awhile or hand the series over to a new team.

Nintendo should have given it to a new team since 2006. Skyward Sword really needs to blow me away for me to even consider getting a WiiU anytime before next next generation comes over.

That said, a release date surely needs celebration. It only comes 65 days after my birthday!
