Ambassador Program Games Will be Eligible for Club Nintendo Points!!

Early adopters rejoice! The 20 Ambassador Program games (10 NES; 10 GBA) announced for the 3DS Shop are eligible for free points. It is not clear how many points each one is worth, but we will keep you posted. This is is just an assumption on my part but, given that free software such as Pokedex 3D, 3D Classic Excitebike, and Netflix have each netted 10 coins each, I believe that it is safe to assume that each of the free Ambassador Games will also net you 10 Coins. This will total 200 Coins if my assumption is correct.

Looks like things just got even better for those of us that are in the Ambassador Program as well as Club Nintendo. You'll be able to obtain coins for the 20 free games that Nintendo is releasing.

Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors who link their Nintendo 3DS systems to their Club Nintendo account prior to downloading their games will be eligible to earn Coins for the 20 free games.
We don't know how many coins just yet, but free games and free coins is nothing to complain about! Thanks to all that sent this in.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Nice...

I don't have to do anything fancy for this right? I have downloaded the free trailers and Excitebike as well as Zelda DX...

An Ambassador is me right?

I'm not sure if this affects me. As far as I know I don't get Stars for any VC purchases I make on my 3DS. Boo.

(with my 3DS points, Skyward Sword, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, and these, I'm a sure thing.

Now...all I had to do was go online BEFORE August 12th...or do I have to buy something before the 12th? Or do we have to go online August 11th? I was kinda always confused

@Wellsy529 I BELIEVE that as long as you've connected your 3DS to your Club Nintendo account, you're fine. Don't quote me though.

@Wellsy529 and @sirmastersephiroth

You're right Sir Master.

Here's the quote straight from Nintendo's website:

Nintendo 3DS owners who have performed the latest system update OR who visit the Nintendo eShop using a wireless broadband Internet connection prior to 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on Aug. 11, 2011, are automatically registered for the program and will receive 20 free downloadable games before the end of the year.

This totally rocks. My socks.

These games might certainly jumpstart my gaming. Wonder how long its going to take to download them. Would be crazy awesome if they downloaded during system sleep

I'm curious about two things:

1. Are we going to have to download the games one at a time?

2. Does this mean we get 200 free Club Nintendo coins?

2. No.

Haha, you bastard!

I'll let you know that my realistic (pessimistic?) expectations when it comes to Nintendo doing stuff like this has saved me from more than one disappointment. It's only 1:0 because you started counting just now.
