We now know seven of the ten free GBA downloads for 3DS Ambassadors. But what could the latest two be?

There’s certainly been a fair bit of debate over the 3DS price cut over the last couple of days. Are 20 games sufficient compensation to the loyal fans? Should we be able to pick and choose the 20? I personally think that giving us 10 top GBA and NES titles just because others are going to pay less for their 3DS is over generous from Nintendo, but it looks like the debate will rage on.

Anyway, the fact remains that Nintendo are going to give you 20 downloads if you connect to the eShop before the 12th August. Five GBA titles and five NES downloads were revealed last week, but Nintendo of America have now revealed another two of the GameBoy Advance releases in an e-mail to Go-Nintendo. It looks like GBA downloads 6 and 7 are going to be Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3, as well as Kirby and The Amazing Mirror.

Super Mario Advance 4 was the finale to the Super Mario Advance series, and was one of the most warmly received. It’s a graphically updated remake of the all-time legend that is Super Mario Bros 3, and features Tanooki Mario, who is also set to make an appearance in Super Mario 3D-Land later this year.

Kirby and The Amazing Mirror is a farily standard Kirby platformer, if a very well received one. The 2004 release is widely considered to be one of the biggest and best handheld Kirby titles ever, even though it doesn’t feature the usual antagonist, King Dedede.

Are you happy with these next two slots, and what would you like the remaining 3 GBA releases to be?

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Huh... I'd rather have the NES version of Mario 3.

SMA4: SMB3 and Kirby's Amazing Mirror.

I've never played Kirby so I'm happy to get that one. SMB3 I hear is a good game.

SMB3 should have been an NES title and we should have gotten SMW on the GBA. All the classic Mario games on the go. SMB, SMB3 on NES, SMW on GBA. You might think to yourself "Hey stephen08, aren't you forgetting one?" No. No I am not.

We might still get SMW, and we're getting SMW2 Yoshi's Island. SMB 2 is too good to be given away free.

If the SMB3 game has the eCard bonus levels, that would be cool.

But it won't.

Yay for Kirby! I've never played that one.

@anon_mastermind

SMW2 is more of a Yoshi game than a Mario game.

SMB2 isn't even a Mario game.

It better come with e-Reader functionality.

(Actually it would be cool if all that content was unlocked... I think? I have no idea what it is but it should be!)

I agree with the author's sentiments regarding these downloads; Nintendo did not have to do this, so I'm simply grateful they're looking out for their loyal customers. :)

I never would have guessed they'd be giving away SMB3. I thought they'd stick with 2 and leave the best ones (SMB3 & SMW) for the eShop. I'm thinking Nintendo is being too generous. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

This is good news. I've never played Kirby, and SMB3 is one of the best games of all time. I'm hoping we don't get any more Mario games, but I can't complain too much about getting some of the best games of all time for free.

I do hope they somehow include the e-Reader functionality, but after DK94's Super GameBoy stuff and the lack of GB multiplayer, I'm certainly not expecting it.

Yoshi's Island and SMB3 are way better than SMB2.

Hm, two more games that I already own. Oh well, it's not like I would have replayed them otherwise.

I don't have the Kirby game and SMB3 is always a welcome addition to any system. Like the original, I only have the NES cart, so it'll be cool for me to have SMB3 on the go. It's my favorite game of all time, after all.

@Guillaume

Yea, if the eCard levels were unlocked this would be very exciting news. We know better.

But still, I haven't played Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, so that's nice.

EDIT: Wrong thread.

Never played either game (beat SmB3, just not on the GBA) so I'm looking forward to them!

Hmm, at least I don't own Kirby. Wasn't particularly interested in playing it either, but hey... it's something new.

I *ALMOST* did, but then I didn't...I don't really know why. It looked like fun.
