Is that the first '3DSWare' game?

@Shadowlink
Stop posting that!

Is Brawl Brothers the one good entry in that brawler series they talked about on WAHP?

@Anand

I don't know!

@anon_mastermind

It's the first 3DS downloadable title, so...maybe? Are they even calling it 3DSWare officially?

Ugh, Gameloft shouldn't be the ones to kick it off.

@Anand

Haha, my thoughts exactly.

I made the very conscious decision to never buy one of their games again, even if it rates highly. Because I know their games are crap and anyone saying otherwise is probably misguided.

OMG the trailer for that golf game is insane, INSANE! The lady at the end kills a gopher, and then smiles about it, and that poor bald kid with hair extensions taped to his head, terrifying, lol!

I sorta want it.

@Guillaume
I bought that 2-D Castlevania game they made for DSiWare, and it was mostly crappy you're right... but it wasn't totally awful, I kind of enjoyed it.

@deathly_hallows

It's an actual Castlevania game? What's it called?

@Jargon

Not an actual Castlevania, Gameloft specializes in poor knock-offs. Soul of Darkness.

Whenever I see Burn the Rope I think of You Have to Burn the Rope.

@Guillaume

Pretty much. Here's how Gameloft makes a game.

1. Find a good game
2. Copy
3. Paste
4. Alter the looks of environments and characters
5. Tweak the gameplay to make it not as good as the original
6. Publish

They have a lot of Android games, but I will not pay for one of them.

Their Castlevania knockoff was solid, albeit cliche.

@Anand

Never!

@Mr_Mustache

I know, right? I can't help myself. The set-ups just keep happening.

It's driving Stephen nuts too, hehehehe.

Well, in a display of "good news", Let's Golf 3D shows Nintendo is a bit more serious about digital downloads. Wasn't the block limit on WiiWare like 320? Because it uses 1526.

The price is comparable to that of the App Store ($4.99 for Let's Golf 2 HD, add some 3D in and I think the $2 increase is justified). I still likely won't be buying it, but it's good to see them get a bit more serious about the digital side of things.

@Guillaume Yeah but this one is apparently a pretty good Mario Golf knockoff. And since Nintendo abandoned Mario Golf (despite, you know, A CONTROLLER THAT WOULD MAKE IT MAKE SO MUCH SENSE) I may need to get my fix elsewhere.

And considering Mario Golf was just a Hot Shots Golf knockoff, I think it is ok.

@Zero

And Soul of Darkness was apparently a pretty good Castlevania knock-off. I don't care, everyone is probably wrong.

But we still get Castlevania games, so why bother with a ripoff? We haven't had a Mario Golf in ages though. What else is there... Tiger Woods? But I hate realistic golf games.

Anyway, how many different ways can you even do a golf game? There was that game on Gamecube that tried to use criminals and other thug-like people as your characters... never really understood that.

For the most part you can do a realistic golf game, or a cartooney golf game. And every cartooney golf game is going to be somewhat reminiscent of Mario Golf.
