Why can't we get something good from Japan, like the Super Famicom controller or a Super Mario Galaxy soundtrack or something like that?

Looking at Japan's Platinum rewards since 2004, those are the only good things they've gotten that we haven't.

@X-pert74Because NoA sucks, remember? I kid, I kid. Although seriously, I'm not surprised. I wonder what Nintendo is doing with all those piles of money. I mean besides diving into it head first like Scrooge McDuck.

And obviously no modern manufacturing plant can handle making the superior SNES controller in this day and age. Top buttons concave for your thumb tip and convex for your thumb joint? Genius. Super Famicom didn't have that.

@X-pert74Ba dum tish! We all like Nintendo, but they are a company at the end of the day. Hate them or love them, they've stayed alive for more than 120 years in one form or another. At the end of the day, what they want to do is make money. They don't really owe us anything, as much as we'd like to think they do. With that said, if they decided to make better rewards, maybe people would buy more of their games and register them.

If they even came close they'd make us choose 1 of the 3. Give a little and then break all our hearts in having to choose. Yeah...not happening.

In an unprecedented move, Nintendo has just announced their 2012 Club Nintendo Platinum Prize. Take a look: You'll need 800 Nintendo Coins to buy the leopard print background, though.

In a fit of "I need it," I ordered a Japanese Pin Set off of eBay. I spent $26 total, which beats spending $50 for a game to sit there unopened. Redeemed my Calendar. Two straight calendar years. What the S..

@GuillaumeNope. Just BARELY hit Gold. In order to hit Platinum, you need to purchased 10 Wii games. (50 game register points x 10 = 500; 10 post play points x 10 = 100) I don't even know of 10 Nintendo Wii games that released last year. EDIT- And yes, same pins.

I dunno. Those buttons don't appeal to me, but then again, neither did that figurine last year. I'd like more stuff like Doc Louis' Punch-Out!!, but what are ya gonna do? Alot of it is perspective. I thought the Doc Louis reward sucked major ass and the only saving grace for that year, is I really wasn't into registering games, ect on club Nintendo. Seriously, stuff like the pins, hat, figurine, ect are pretty cool imo. I think people was expecting something along the lines of a Zelda figurine this year, esp. since it was Zelda's anniversary. There is a total of 25 pins, plus I read you can do something with the packaging, make different pictures, ect. I don't think one should have to be a pin collector to appreciate the pins. When I receive them I will just add them to my little Nintendo shrine of collectibles. Hell, maybe I might even wear one from time to time. Probably not, cause I don't want to ruin them, ect.

@Mr_MustacheWell, you do have to open the game to get the pin# inside to register the game. So, it would just sit there unopened. Well, I only need like 80 more coins to hit platinum for this coming year. I just took abunch of surveys I had been holding onto, registered my 3DS just today so the points would count for next June and several games I bought recently. At this point I am way ahead of the game. What is Japan getting this year? Maybe thats what we will get next year. Ha,ha.
