This special episode of the Negative World podcast is about one thing and one thing only (and yet still manages to be longer than any previous episode somehow): the Electronic Entertainment Expo!
Listen to Guillaume and TriforceBun talk about their experience at E3, getting their hands on demos for games that will not come out for months! Carlosrox plays the role of the everyman who did not get to go to E3 but really wishes he had.
The Wii U, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Luigi's Mansion 2, Mario Kart 3DS, Super Mario, Kid Icarus, Rhythm Heaven, Resident Evil Revelations and many, many more are discussed. Perfect for those 2 hours and a half commutes! Hey, we had to make up for a 3 weeks long absence, right?
As usual, the music comes from Negative World's owner and dictator, Zero.
Comment on the topics, the podcast, the guests, the host, etc. on Negative World! Or, be a weirdo and post them on Facebook or Twitter instead.
Three, but with a topic like this, four would have been too many. This podcast ran a little long, and I actually edited out a lot of stuff compared to usual.
I'd rather plan for 4 and get 3 than plan for three and do the podcast with just one other person, though.
Since it's a rather massive podcast, it might be a good idea to give a link in two parts or something to make it easier to listen to one then the other instead of all at once (if one desires).
Fun podcast though, and we clearly had lots to say about the games on the show floor.
I'm enjoying the conversations between you three, but honestly the only negative thing I have to say is that a lot of the subject material was covered quite extensively already in the impressions posted by Guillaume and Matthew (TriforceBun) on the boards, in addition to Carlos' posts about E3 in general. Plus, anyone who's been following E3 has surely read impressions from numerous other sources as well.
In contrast, prior NW podcast episodes usually focus on topics that haven't been discussed in-depth recently anywhere on the boards, so I do find those a bit more interesting.
But the conversations in this episode are still insightful, don't get me wrong! In fact, it's actually a pretty great summary of all things E3 for anyone who may have had a tough time keeping up with all the stuff that went down, and helps ensure the listener there wasn't something they may have missed.
I find this episode especially informative for non-members who don't frequent our boards very often. Now they have the NW perspective on E3.
Plus, we get to hear you guys, and stuff comes up that may not have been come out on the boards. Matthew's personality really shines when he displays his enthusiasm for Kirby Wii! I am so hyped for that game.
I can tell it was difficult for you guys to cover all aspects of E3 in a concise manner! There is simply a lot of material to cover.
Splitting the podcast in two makes a mess with feeds (and iTunes). Tons of people skipped part 1 of the 3DS special when I did it because iTunes only downloaded part 2 automatically.
I was pretty nervous at the beginning since it was my first time and I felt pressured to be insightful lol. Also, I was actually really sick so it was awful timing. Had a very sore throat, dunno if you can tell, I have yet to listen to it!
I'll do better next time But it was fun!
LOL I knew "picking up a few guys" was gonna make it into the intro.
Edit: Wow do I sound young. Yeah I could tell I sound sick there. I'm still sorta shocked it went on so long! Is this the longest one yet?
@Guillaume I loved your recurring theme "I'm not a huge fan" of this series, "I'm not a big fan" of that series, and so forth, up to the point where you even acknowledge this phrase/ attitude of yours was becoming a bit repetitious.
@carlosrox You did great man. I couldn't tell you were sick, but then again I'm not familiar with your voice, so I wouldn't even know...
@roykoopa64 I agree, I was a little worried we were sorta discussing stuff we'd all beaten to death on the forums. I believe I even brought up a few topics that were specifically mentioned in threads
Really loved this one. I don't have a lot to add, since we talked E3 to death over the last couple of weeks, but it was definitely entertaining. The length was surprisingly not a problem.
Hey, maybe next time, buddy. We already had 4 people planned, then Griptor couldn't make it, but it was too late to look for a replacement. And as it turns out, the podcast was long enough with 3 people already!
Good podcast though, I enjoyed it, although I think I prefer the standard format. I'm not bothered by the length though - I actually prefer longer podcasts. I listen to them on my drive to and from work, so it spills over anyway - I don't mind it taking a couple trips to listen to.
