Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Soundtrack Registration Problems UPDATE
News reported by

If you got your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and registered it immediately to get the Limited Edition Soundtrack you must have received a pop-up request asking you whether you wanted to receive it or not. Hundreds (if not thousands) of customers have not received this one-time pop-up and they may be left without their soundtrack. As one of those unlucky people, I e-mailed Nintendo about it and then called their customer support line. A very nice representative took my information down told me that he would forward it to the administration department so they could decide what the next course of action would be. He also told me that someone from Nintendo would be contacting me within the next 24-48 hours with an answer.

If you are in the same boat, I urge you to e-mail (nintendo@noa.nintendo.com) or preferably call Nintendo of America at 1-800-255-3700. Please be courteous; remember that it's not the representative's fault and they are in a position to help you out. Nintendo of America has a long history of having great customer support and it would not surprise me that they are already planning a remedy for the situation. In fact, I would not rule out an additional printing of these Limited Edition discs, just like they did when Super Mario All-Stars for the Wii sold out. In any case, good luck.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Soundtracks are sold out in Europe, they only had 2000 units

Same thing happened to me. I called them, a guy took in my info and he said "We'll try to get that shipped out to you." If I don't get one, I'm not going to be happy. They should have made this a digital download.

Crap, seriously? Thanks for the heads-up, I just sent an email.

@ludist210 Yeah, a digital download wouldn't have any problem like this

I would strongly suggest calling because they are sending the complaints to the appropriate department immediately.

Tried calling them and got nowhere because I did not speak to a representative. So, I sent an email. Will be calling them again tomorrow.

Bleah. I sent an e-mail through their form early today, no response (not even an automatic one) yet. I registered at like 8AM and got no prompt.

I wanna wait 'til at least tomorrow to call, but I know by then they'd be out of the CD's.

I'd be down for a download.

Just got off the phone with a representative, I'm good to go IF they still have enough in supply.

I had the same problem and emailed them first. After waiting a few hours I called. I spoke to a representative and he took some info: Name, Club Nintendo Account Name, address, email, phone numbers, and the time I registered the game. After that exchange the rep informed me that he will foward the information to the administration department. I recieved an email at 7:15PM Eastern time stating that my "order" was accepted.
Hope this helps.

Does it show as processing on your "Reward Order Inquiry" page at Club Nintendo?

@sirmastersephiroth

Nope. She said there's nothing else I have to do, and if I get one it'll be sent out the first week of July.

Btw, the site has an update.

Yeah, I was just about to post about the update. Looks like we have until tomorrow to register the game, and anyone that does that will receive a confirmation email within 7 days. I guess that's better than nothing.

Yea, I received an email saying my order was placed. I had called and sent an email just to be sure.

I never even got the survey! When I registered my game, I got a message saying the game was already registered and the pin # could only be used once! I was like WTF, its a brand new game, never opened. Since I only live a couple miles from the Gamestop, I called the guy and traded the game for another one, thinking maybe the pin #s were duplicated.

When I got home and tried to register the new OoT game, I got a message saying I already registered the game! I am like WTF again! I checked my acct and sure enought OoT 3D was listed with all my other games. But I never was able to do the survey, therefore I never got the popup.

So...I made a new Club Nintendo Acct and tried registering the newer game and I actually got the survey this time, but not the popup for the sdsoundtrack. I am like WTF even lounder and more pissed off. By now I am hot, so I checked the message boards and I saw where others were having the problem. So I called Nintendo and explained to the rep. about not getting the survey or popup on the first game I registered. I didn't mention about going back and getting another game.

Anyways, later this afternoon around 5:30pm, I got this email from an Elliot Teeman:

Hello,
I'm sorry to hear that you had technical issues when trying to place your order for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Soundtrack CD.

Using the information you provided, I was able to locate your Club Nintendo account. I see that you qualify for this promotion, so I have taken the liberty of placing an order for the soundtrack CD (it will be sent to the address on your account).

The next time you login to your account, you can click “Reward Order Inquiry” on your Club Nintendo homepage to view your order status (please allow 30 minutes for this order to appear in your Club Nintendo account).

We will begin shipping the soundtrack CD the week of July 5. Please allow 1-2 weeks from the ship date for delivery.

Sincerely,
Nintendo of America Inc.
Elliot Teeman

I also got my confirmation email about my reward being processed. I did reply to Mr Teeman about not being able to take the survey and that I would like my 40 coins as well. I have not heard back from him.

Now, the game I have is not the one that was registered with my normal Club Nintendo acct., but I tried registering it with the new Club Nintendo acct. I wasn't trying to cheat to get 2 CDs, I just wanted the one that was due to me. So, I guess I will try re-registering it and if someone here actually gets screwed out of not getting one, I will be happy to send it off to you, of course that is if I actually get this game to register properly this time. Other than that, more than likely I will either keep the CD and sell it later on for a high price or I might see how much I can get out of it now... but I will still wait a month or so to sell it, cause I know alot of people try selling limited stuff like this online.

Also, the rep. I talked to this morning said there was 50,000 copies of the CD to be sent out. Even though that is alot, I would how many people in the US actually pre-ordered and bought the game today?
