@GameDadGrant

I hadn't even seen the "eShop" thing, I thought Nintendo was giving us the arcade game finally, or the ROM hack Europeans got that added back the missing level in the NES version.

But if it's the Game Boy game... even better! I've always wanted to play it.

I hope it has the extra stuff that you got if you played on the Super Game Boy.

edit - The pic in the link is black and white so... I guess not.

Mega Man 5 and Donkey Kong 94? Good stuff.

Is there really a price difference between the DSiWare and eShop download of Hidden Photo?

No, ludist simply made a typo.

So wait, this is the Donkey Kong 94 game everyone was talking about being so good? I checked the link and thought it was just a port of the NES version. If it is, I'll have to check this out!

@VofEscaflowne

It is the Donkey Kong 94 game you've heard about. It's actually called just Donkey Kong officially, people just add the 94 to differentiate it from the arcade game.

Yes, it's Donkey Kong '94.

Sorry for the typo, guys. Nintendo changed the format of the presser, so it's not just a simple copy/paste anymore and I was in a hurry to get out the door.

EDIT: And thanks to whoever fixed the price for DK94. Nintendo just fixed the link.

@ludist210

Did I just really beat you by a fraction of a second?

BTW, DK is $3.99.

@Guillaume

Yeah, just saw that myself. The link was busted when I saw the initial presser this morning. They fixed it.

I would highlight the excellent VC releases in the thread title to get more attention.

Reposting what I said on Twitter and Facebook:

"Donkey Kong '94 is hitting the 3DS VC today for only $3.99. If you own a 3DS and you do not buy this, I will HUNT YOU DOWN."

Seriously, this is possibly THE best game on the GameBoy. Right up there with Link's Awakening. Everyone should play this game.

Awesome, DK '94 is here! Yet, at the same time:

I was hoping we'd get the Super Game Boy colors.

It makes sense to get the B&W graphics of the GB since that's how it plays in portable format, since Super Game Boy was a console exclusive, but still...

Nintendo did say Super GameBoy features were possible, but at the discretion of the publisher. Figures they wouldn't include it.

I was hoping at least that it would work in the original resolution, with the cool border taking the place of the GameBoy border.

@rebonack@rebonack

They'll probably release the Super Game Boy features on a separate purchase

Wow, I was already excited to get a 3DS, but Donkey Kong '94 is one of my favorite games EVER. And I haven't played it in many years, so I'm very excited to play through it again. Nintendo is doing great with the 3DS VC so far.

And Mega Man 5 for the Wii VC?!? I LOVE that game as well....a very good day for me!
