All the BIT.TRIP games in one package!

Not going to lie...this is one game that would actually be INSANE in 3D.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Stylus could make BEAT/FLUX unbalanced though. I mean, I think? stylus controls would be easier than the tilt on the Wii versions, because you don't have to judge distances, you just move to exactly where you want to be. On the other hand it might be tougher for the quick movements.

Well, at least they have a sense of humor about it?

I'm so glad that I only bought one!!

Eat it, diehard supporters!

I only own one as well, but I got mine via the Negative World Secret Santa Gift Exchange! So I didn't even pay for mine!

I WIN.

Diehard supports can still eat it, lulz!

I tried the Bit.Trip BEAT demo on the iPhone last night and... yikes. I don't know if it's such a good idea for people to skip the Wiiware releases in favor of a portable one. It's sooo tiny, I personally find it nearly unplayable.

It wasn't just the fact that it's tiny, though: I don't think the accelerometer on the iPhone is as good as on a Wiimote (there seemed to be a slight lag) and there is just no way an iPhone screen can compete with my TV (some ghosting, poorer contrast, and maybe the lag was the screen and not the accelerometer). It will be interesting to see if the 3DS screen fares better.

But it will still be tiny.

You sound like an HD whore! I don't think the 3DS version will use the accelerometer much. Or it'll be optional, maybe, because doesn't even a modest amount of vertical tilt throw off the 3D. It'll be interesting to see what they'll do.

(How many apps did you buy already?)

@Guillaume

Well, the 3DS screen can at least move the HUD to the lower screen (or top screen) to give it a bit more real estate. That's something to keep in mind. I don't think Runner will be affected whatsoever.

@Anand

Haha, me an HD whore, that's a funny thought. No, the Bit.Trip experience is just much, much, much better on Wiiware than on iPhone. Less loading and way better visibility. I'm curious to see if the iPhone screen just isn't suited to fast-paced games or if the problems I had are specific to this game.

I bought Infinity Blade because it was on sale and Superbrothers: Swords & Sorcery EP because I like the guy who did the music for it. But I have yet to turn either of them on... I also checked out the demos for Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope and Flight Control, I don't think I'll buy any of them.

@ludist210

No, I suppose RUNNER will be fine. BEAT and FLUX are my concern. That's 2/5th of the package!

People only care about Runner.

@Guillaume
You're not going to buy Cut the Rope??? Why do you even HAVE an iPhone?

I couldn't get into the Air Traffic genre, either. It's so weird.

There are actually a lot of iPhone clones on XBLI. It's the bottom bucket in the trickle. I just played a Doodlebug clone the other day.

Are you going to take a chance on iGhouls'n'Ghosts?

I might. I dunno. I still haven't played the PSP game much. I still have 3DS games I've barely touched.

I didn't quite buy the iPhone for the games, though it did factor into the decision. But I'm not planning to make many purchases in the immediate future. And the demos for the $1 games are about as much fun and as impressive as I had expected, i.e. they're shallow and boring. Skip's and Q-Games' DSiware offering just kills them dead. Bias?

Rhetorical. I don't think I'm being biased at all.

And maybe it's just my phone, but I find the responsiveness of the screen disappointing. People complain when waggle doesn't quite register on the Wii, yet go ga-ga over the iPhone's touch screen which seems to miss or misinterpret 33% of the gestures? I don't get it. But maybe I just need to get used to it.

@Guillaume

Are you sure your Game Center name is also your Words with Friends name? I searched PandareusRex and came up empty. I just started a game with Pandareus, but maybe it's not you?

@Secret_Tunnel

Dang, no online leaderboards? Do any of their games have them on other platforms?

@Guillaume

lewbie210 on WwF.

@Jargon

Oh, I thought it was an automatic thing. I haven't actually tried WWF yet. Well, it's gonna be either Pandareus or PandareusRex if the former is taken already (why!?).

edit - Oh wait, you just said there is a Pandareus. It IS taken. No, it's not me.

Haha ok guess I'm playing with a stranger. Anyway, my name is JSlakov so start up a game once you get your account set up (takes one second).

@ludist210

Started a game with you.

@Anand I think it has to use the tilt though. BEAT using the slider pad or something? Eh... I'm not even sure if that is possible. It might just be a matter of when you play the tilt games, you have to turn the 3D super far down and/or off.

I'm certainly interested in this one since I haven't picked up the Bit.Trip games on the Wii yet, though I did play the Runner demo a couple of nights ago and just loved it. If the port is solid, I'd love to have it on the 3DS.

By the way, one of the big mysteries on NW that's developed over the last couple of days is, "Who the heck is this Spoofy Other Pandareus?"
