Fed up of having Wiiware games with such a low file size limit, then this news is sure to interest you. Below is part of an interview with Nick Watt from Nnooo

Nic Watt: ...for escapeVektor, what we are looking at is, instead of having individual chapters like we will have on Wii, we will bundle them all in one big downloadable title on the 3DS. Maybe add in some bonus extra additional levels, that is what we are currently thinking.

Daan Koopman: But since you want to put all those chapters together is it reasonable to say that the limits on the eShop are bigger than what we have seen before?

Nic Watt: I can't possibly comment on that at the moment, but we had an interesting conversation with Nintendo about it.

About time. Seeing all the WiiWare support drop cause of limiting file sizes was pretty annoying. Still, a few great titles came out of the service but you can't help but wonder how much more it could have been if it weren't for that limit.

The NWR guys always imply that the 40 MB thing was a technical limit of the system. Like, the amount of RAM that the game loaded into, or something?

Is it safe to assume the the file sizes might remain the same, but since they can scale back on the size of the textures for a 3DS title, the same size could be like an ocean as opposed to a lake in comparison of the 3DS to the Wii? Just speculating here. No idea, really.

@Deerock69

Have you seen the game? There's nothing to scale back. It's a very graphically simple game, like the Bit.Trip series.

EDIT:

Well, now we know it's not going to be scaled back graphically:

...Then what we're hoping to do is bring escapeVektor to the 3DS. The design of the game has taken the 3DS into account, particularly in the graphics, so it should look even better on the 3DS, which will be cool...

I was just asking a question. I claim no intelligence in this arena.

It's cool, man. I know you were just throwing around some ideas. With some games, it would actually make sense. That just doesn't happen to be the case with this particular game. I guess that's a good thing though, because that pretty much confirms that the file size limit will be much larger.

Ah, Nnooo, the makers of the incredibly popular myNotebook series: myNotebook blue, myNotebook green, myNotebook carbon, myNotebook pearl, myNotebook tan...

I'm waiting for their next project with bated breath.

@Pandareus

I actually really enjoyed their pOp game. One of my favorite downloadable action titles. I enjoy games with interactive music (well most games, because I didn't enjoy de Blob) and pOp was a wonderful musically interactive experience. It was such a simple concept, but its therapeutic properties are undeniable.

There are a couple of sort-of interactive music games on XBLI, Beat Hazard and... some Geometry Wars clone that generates music as you play.
