First 3DS advertisement hits North American TV

Have you been wondering just how Nintendo would be able to pull off marketing a device thats main feature can't be shown on TV? Then look no further.

The first advertisment has hit North Amercian TV and I have to say it does a great job of advertising the 3D and AR features without seeming too cheesy. It really is nice to see Nintendo go on a full on marketing blitz for the system much like the Wii at launch, now it would be nice to see them put out the same effort for new game releases.

Oh and while we are at it here is the first Street Fighter IV advertisment

Pretty awesome Internet commercial. Hard to believe it's from Nintendo.

Haha, great stuff! It's like Kevin Butler combined with Nintendo Week.

Joel McHale is awesome. Nintendo is awesome. Classic advertising.

Also, love the models....

...Those italians in their overalls.

The ending with Mario and Luigi trying to squeeze through the door was priceless, and made the video for me. Good stuff, indeed, all around. And yes, very un-Nintendo like... in an unexpectedly good way, of course.

Pretty funny. Probably tests the very limit of irony in a commercial.

Joel McHale has fallen out of grace with me but I still enjoyed the non-mercial!

Agreed, that three-second gag was awesome.

I don't know how to make this post seem un-sarcastic... but I'm not being sarcastic.

I actually like it too, and have no interest in the actor/show he's known for.

What in the fuck does a "viral video" mean anyways? Such a stupid term IMO.

It's not hard to believe it's form Nintendo. After all, they're the ones who came up with the whole dumb "touching is good" slogan for the DS, and this isn't much better.

@carlosrox A viral video is a video that spreads quickly across the Internet, like a virus.

@Mop it up
How do you "make" something viral? If a video is good, it'll go "viral".

You can't really make it happen, and I think that's why the video was supposed to be funny. Don't ask me though, I didn't think the video was funny (except for the bit with Mario and Luigi at the end).
