I'm tempted to watch, but I am in real danger of ruining all of the surprise of getting a 3DS. I still don't know what all of the AR games are, and I plan to keep it that way. I'm on blackout!

Thanks a lot for the videos. I guess its official now; Super Street Fighter IV has static backgrounds. Everything else looks and sounds great though. I can't wait to have it in my hands.

Can't wait to unbox mine on the 25th. I don't think there will be much work getting done that day.

After watching I'm kind of sad, Ridge Racer looks exactly like the PSP game, what a let down! I expect better-than-PSP graphics on the 3DS (even though I'm sure the 3-D effect will look cool).

@sirmastersephiroth@GameDadGrantI wonder if it has anything to do with the size of the cart. Ono said that they filled up the cart to the point where they couldn't even put the other languages in there. Maybe they didn't have room for the animations?

@casper884I bet there just wasn't enough processing power and RAM to display all that stuff happening at once. At least the backgrounds are polygonal, didn't the iphone version have 2-D backdrops? It doesn't look bad at all for a portable game.

@GameDadGrant @casper884 It's really only a minor gripe for me. I'm pretty sure It'll be awesome.

When I played this at the event I failed to notice the static backgrounds even though I knew about them going in so I don't think its a major concern. It will be more noticeable if you are using spectator mode I would imagine.

Yes I played with both, The slide pad felt great in standard view but I kept getting the moves wrong in dynamic view because of the perspective. The D-Pad felt great in both modes. You can switch between them both though fairly seamlessly so it was great doing 360's using the slide pad but coming back to the d-pad for charge moves.

@deathly_hallowsIt could be. There is a fair amount of processing dedicated to the system itself, so it doesn't have a whole lot to dedicate to graphics. Still, we're talking about some pretty lite animation here. Who knows. I'm not really to bummed about it though, as my attention is going to be on the characters like it always is 90% of the time. The only time I pay lots of attention to environments is when I'm playing 3D fighters, like I will be for Dead or Alive: Dimensions. Now if those environments were static, I'd be pissed. Thankfully they're not.

I read that you can instantly perform charge moves in SSFIV with the touch-panel. Isn't that kind of... wrong? Or do the panels just light up when enough time has passed?
