Sweet, Faxanadu! Fans of Adventure of Link, check it out. There's a chance the very first few enemies will kill you, but you'll get the hang of it I'm sure. Also, the music is pretty damn awesome.

This list is full of sweetness. Sweet VC game, sweet demo, and sweet GG Series game.

I am SUCH a fan of Adventure of Link. Now bring Battle of Olympus to the service!

Excellent news, Faxanadu is here.

This is a really crazy coincidence. Just 15 minutes ago I was listening to an old Radio Free Nintendo podcast in my car. I've been listening to their older podcasts that I missed out on before, and in ep. 214 (Oct. 2010), Greg is discussing this game, since it did appear on Japan's Wii VC.

It's like as soon as I heard about this game and how great it would be to have it in the U.S., it's now arrived!

@anandxxx

I would love to see Battle of Olympus on the VC, though I know the chances of that happening are slim to none.

Looking it up, it was published by Imagineer (Japan) and Broderbund (America). Who knows who has the rights now? Lode Runner has been rereleased here, though, so cross your fingers?

Oh cool, Faxanadu! I've never played it, but I've heard of how it's part of a mainly Japan-only series called Xanadu or something. It's nice to see more games come to the Virtual Console like this.

EDIT: By the way, is Hudson really publishing this? I thought their North American branch closed/was sucked up by Konami?

Rage of the Gladiator demo was ok. I can't get by the fact that this is just a poor man's Punch Out clone. You get attribute points to spend on various stuff between fights. There were three fights in the demo, and I didn't see how the motion plus added anything to the controls. Not gonna get this one, after all.
