StreetPass Quest and StreetPass Puzzle games come built in with 3DS at launch

Yes this is getting over the top, a gamer who has had hands on time with the 3DS in the UK has leaked information regarding two more games bundles with the 3DS. See the details below.

StreetPass Quest begins with your Mii trapped in a tower. To escape, you must use Miis you have collected via StreetPass and battle increasingly powerful enemies in turn-based combat. If you haven’t collected any Miis then you’re able to purchase a cat in armour to act as a substitute. You purchase this cat with two game coins, which have been previously detailed. The cat has two attack options: sword and magic.

Richard guesstimated that there were about 16-32 different levels you could work your way through and you’ll need to battle with each enemy about 2-3 times to match their power. You can fight your way through the game with up to three Miis at a time. Failed attempts at rescuing your Mii from the tower are met with details about enemies you have defeated and the remaining health of enemies who you’ve tried to take on but failed to take down, so it sounds like this quest will require an investment over time, rather than just a single sitting.

The goal of StreetPass Puzzle is to construct a 3D puzzle. But to complete this puzzle you need to collect pieces by interacting with other folks via StreetPass. The more people you interact with, the more puzzle pieces you gain until you can finally complete the puzzle. Richard was unable to test this game out fully however as it does rely on StreetPass interaction which he lacked.

The more news I hear the more I love this system, Nintendo is really looking to give gamers the excuse to get out and about with the system. The end of March cannot come soon enough.

Woah, looks like there's not gonna be any shortage of games for early adopters after all.

@Secret_Tunnel Yeah, and half of them are going to be built into the system and packaged in the box!

But seriously folks, I'm still trying to decide which launch games I should buy (if any) and which ones I should rent. All these cool little packed-in extras make it less of a concern.

It's crazy, Nintendo are really going above and beyond to show just how cool StreetPass can be. I can't wait to see how all this functionality is used later in the systems lifecycle.

I wonder if there's a way to collect Miis other than using StreetPass. I totally understand what Nintendo's doing, they want to encourage people to make use of StreetPass, but not all of us are in situations where we will be regularly passing by other people who also happen to be carrying a 3DS as well. It sounds like it will be perfect for those who use public transportation, for example.

Mind you, I'm not complaining, not in the least. This is still an excellent addition to the growing number of built-in games for the 3DS.

I use public transportation and I still don't expect to get any results out of StreetPass. Still, I'll keep it on me every now and then, I guess.

I work part time at Disney so I guess I'll take it to work and hope that some guests brings their 3DSs with them too.

As someone who lives in a small town and barely even sees anyone use their handhelds in public, I don't see this being that fun

Pretty cool but I doubt I'll get to use much StreetPass.

March...27...IT MUST COME NOW!!

EDIT:

To the people in low populated areas:

Well, StreetPass 'Quest' suggests that you go on a 'Quest' to find 3DS users. Surely you could target shopping malls, game stores, libraries, college campuses, public transportation stations, etc. Of course, you'd have to make a more concerted effort to go to these places for such a task, but imo, that makes the 'Quest' more fun. You're going on a real life adventure with real results (you may find Miis, you may not). Using the element of surprise in such a way is quite innovative and will lead to some presumably engaging experiences.

Our shopping mall sucks and barely has any people. The game store isn't really busy... library either. No college campuses nearby or public transportation either. This place sucks I'll still bring it along and hope for the best but yeah, I'm not expecting anything.

In your case, it probably would seem pointless...but I would imagine that you finding another user in your area would be that much more exciting! Imagine what your reaction would be like, searching over and over to no avail, and then you finally meet someone!

Anyway, what are the most populated places in your area? Do you have a movie theater near you?

Movie theater I guess would be the most populated in a cramped space Other than that... Wal-Mart? Lol

Nintendo is really going all out with the 3DS and all it's features. I hope they do same with the 3DS games.

Iwata: *laughs*

Really, seriously, you think this isn't going to be the 3DS' version of the Balance Board or Wii 24 Connect? I expect this feature will never be used again after launch. Just watch.

@-JKR-

I kinda doubt that. You can't play Streetpass Quest in one sitting. It's an on-going game, where you have to continue to gather more Mii's/Coins. People aren't going to have all the Miis they need to beat the game at launch.

@casper884

Oh no, no, I didn't mean that. I think PEOPLE will use it in the future. I think Nintendo will abandon it as they did Wii Connect 24 and the GBA Micro. It will be developed for for about a week, and then one more cool idea they never go back to.

I'd love to be wrong, it's just my gut feeling.

@Pandareus

That looks great and I am really looking forward to seeing how many helpers I can find get me through the dungeon. Getting new costumes etc... for Miis is a great addition and a much better system than simply paying for them like on Xbox Live.

@-JKR-

Is it seriously a bad thing to be optimistic about this, I see these great features being bundled in and look forward to seeing how Nintendo and third parties implement them in the future. Plus this seems to be Miyamoto's baby at the moment so I would like to remian somewhat hopeful.

Yay Optimism
