They couldn't even celebrate Valentine's Day by releasing a certain VC game featuring one of gaming's best couples?

@VofEscaflowne

What couple would that be?

@GameDadGrant

Maxim and Selan from Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals of course I though it would be obvious enough with me bitching just about every week about not getting that game yet.

@VofEscaflowne

Ah! Gotcha. I thought it may have been Lufia-related, but since I've not played the game yet (*ducks chair thrown in my direction*) I didn't catch the reference.

Very good, carry on!

Hear hear!

Maybe they didn't want to rub it in Tia's face on today of all days. That girl's had it rough.

WiiWare has been rather shatty lately. It's just one game, along with a number of demos for older games.

I tried out the Chronos Twins DX and Chick Chick Boom demos.

Chronos Twins DX has a very cool concept, in that you control two characters simultaneously and their worlds kind of overlap. It's full of platforming, action, and puzzle segments. I played two demo stages and it was quite fun. The thing is, the game started out as a GBA title and definitely looks it. Chronos Twins is also available on DSiWare, and for half the price - I think I'll be getting that version!

Chick Chick Boom is a very pleasant surprise. It's a turn-based strategy game, with a real-time twist. Your pen of chicks is opposite your opponents, and with the wiimote's pointer you select which attacks and draw the shape on the screen to send an attack. Then, you can sabotage your opponent with a marker. You also have to defend your opponent's attacks. The demo doesn't get that hectic, but I can see it becoming so. There are a few real-time elements to manage while you take your turns attacking and defending. It was actually really fun, and I can see this game being a blast in local multiplayer (co-op or competitive). At 800 points, it's just a little more than I'd like to pay, but I think the value is there. I'll probably download this someday.

A good day for WiiWare demos.
