@Guillaume Yikes.

Guess I'll just play the Wii "bonus" version and ignore the others, then.

Like I said, I won't be able to play the game 'til Christmas, but, I couldn't care less how the reviews are coming in.

A) It's been impossible to trust game reviews for some time now. Game journalism is so corrupt (just like the rest of journalism), everyone has a slant and an agenda and I never feel like "helping the consumer make a purchase decision" is the most import part of those motivations =(

B) This is a game that appears to be built on fun, colorful, likable, endearing, charismatic, cute, cool, and stylish characters, settings, and scenarios. That alone puts it in a genre that used to be many of our favorite yet practically no longer exists. So, this game could control like a herd of cats and look like a CDI nightmare and I bet I'd still find it more captivating than the next triple-A shooter or indie art project.

You would think that with all the delays, they could use that time to get a solid frame rate going.

Soooo confused. Pretty sure one of my buddies at GameStop told me he was upping me to the Limited Edition, and now it APPEARS that it isn't being sold anywhere other than the NIS site. Does anyone know otherwise? I don't know what to do.

Did you go to GameStop? Did they have the Limited Edition there?

The limited editions that NIS America sells are typically exclusive to their online store.

Well, as it turns out, the "Limited Edition" that the GameStop guy mentioned to me was Xenoblade X. He confirmed that to me today, which I went "yeah, I thought there was a chance it was a different game.." Now, do I REALLY want this Limited Edition, or do I only want it because I thought I was "supposed' to be getting it already? I really don't know, Peter, do you? What say you, Grant?

The hardcover book sounds pretty rad, but again, money is short and I don't even know much about the game itself. Someone suggested to me that I get it..so I'm getting it, which is VERY rare for me. Usually I see a game, or hear about a game, and I go "yeah, I want that," all on my own. And rarely I'm "wrong." This one, I feel like I'm completely blind.

Woah, wait. The pre-order I have at GameStop is only the standard version? I want all the goodies that come with the Limited Edition! That's the whole reason I pre-ordered!

@Octorockin, @Mr_Mustache

Well, looks like I am "le screwed."

The Limited Edition version with all the cool stuff inside is SOLD OUT on NIS's online store.

Amazon says my copy should arrive tomorrow by 8pm. Pretty pumped to play a game using the IR pointer. It's been way too long.

..well I guess that finalizes THAT decision for me/us. It was at " 5%-0%" stock when I posed that question.

Sorry, dude.

--Are you suuuuure??

EDIT- Oh. Sorry..

EDIT- UGH, DUDE. 3DS version is still available. Wii U version is SOLD OUT.
Select "3DS" and "Limited," and proceed to check out.

Yeah, the 3DS Limited Edition is the same at GameStop, so I already got that version. Really wanted the goodies from the Wii/WiiU version. Oh well.

Oh really? Thats weird.. No goodies for me, it seems. OH WELLLLLL.

I got the game today (doing a game entry right now for Wii U, and then for Wii), and I got excited when I saw ACTUAL INSTRUCTIONS inside. But then you read them, despite feeling thick, and there is NO substantive information inside, for either the Wii or Wii U versions. What the heck, guys!

EDIT- They're up, thought I didn't do a 3DS one. Tradition.. :-/

Rodea The Sky Soldier exists, and I have it!

I played the Wii version for about an hour, and it's pretty fun. Point at stuff and press B to zoom toward it, press A for attacks (usually a Sonic-style spin attack if you hold A, sometimes you also get a gun you can tap A to rapid-fire). Levels are pretty big, with plenty of landmass to check out, although you'll only find 2D-style bonus rooms or little collectable medals (not sure if these actually buy/earn you anything). Otherwise there's usually a pretty straightforward rush-path to the goal, though sometimes you need to stop and deactivate some traps or kill some enemies to progress.

The camera can be a bit of a hassle, as you turn it by putting the IR reticle in the sides/corners of the screen. An option to use the nunchuk for this would be nice. But it rarely gets in the way that much.

EDIT: Ah, I guess we can start a post-release thread from the database.

Very jealous of all you lucky people playing the game. Like I said in the other thread, I'll have to wait until after Christmas to contribute my thoughts on it.

... or will I? ... where does Amy hide the Christmas gifts again? bwahahaha......... no, that won't work =\
