Pics don't work. Does this game look good? I don't have much faith in this man anymore and Sonic itself was pretty overrated so I don't really care that much.

Pics don't work for me too.

Looks like an on-rails shooter.

Giant robot pic is certainly impressive.

Looks like a large step up in game complexity over Let's Tap, Let's Catch, and Ivy the Kiwi?

Interesting character designs. So this is a Sin & Punishment clone?

@carlosrox

... with a little Shadow of the Colossus design thrown in for good measure

Probably not.

Could this be Nintendo's secret plan to extend the Wii's longevity - have 3rd parties release games for both platforms?

The dev tools that Nintendo provide for the 3DS could even be designed with this in mind, making porting very easy.

@achhibbar

That's an interesting point. Guess we'll see how often we see projects like this.

And by the way, looks awesome thus far. Can't wait to see more.

Releasing on handheld and console at the same time might just be Prope's new MO.

They did the same with Ivy the Kiwi?

@Simbabbad
It was retail on Wii and both retail and downloadable on DS.

Amazon.

Yeah, probably.

I wonder if it'll be the same game on both systems or if they'll differ in content and tie together story-wise. Probably be able to sell more copies like that.

Actually, now that I think about it, didn't Level-5 just release a game in Japan that's DS and PS3?

Here it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ni_no_Kuni

Looks like it's not the exact same game, but slightly different.

@Simbabbad

Well, you're not *entirely* wrong. There is an Ivy the Kiwi? game that was released on DSiWare. (appropriately named Ivy the Kiwi? mini) It is primarily the same as the retail DS release, but only features 50 stages as opposed to the retail's 100 stages. Which I feel still gives you a lot of gameplay, especially considering the downloadable version is a mere $5.

But yeah, this new game looks to be on an entirely different scale.

The 3DS may have the same effect on the Wii that the Wii had on the PS2.

Hopefully it doesn't extend the Wii's life TOO much though lol....I'm kind of ready to move on soon.

Hmm...reading the article, apparently it's Wiimote-only. Guess it won't exactly be a Sin & Punishment clone, then...

Certainly looks interesting, though.

I'll be interested in checking it out if it's not an on-rails game.

I don't trust anyone/thing associated with Sega... though according to Wiki he produced both Nights into Dreams and Phantasy Star Online, neither of which I have played however both are held in high regard. So maybe it's a good game after all!

Oldmanwinter, Sega has nothing to do with this game. Yuji Naka left Sega awhile ago.

I care not! The Taint follows him regardless...

Yuji Naka did not create Sonic. Sonic was created by Naoto Oshima(original character designer) and the gameplay and levels of the originals were designed/directed by Hirokazu Yasuhara. Naka just did the programming.

Naka did create NiGHTS and Phantasy Star Online however.

Anyway, even if this game is Sin & Punishment-ish, that's good in my book. S&P rocks, I'm interested. The wii-mote only thing intrigues me.
