Finally got a price and release date!

March 27th 2010 and $250. You all think this is appropriate?

That's a sunday so I am fully prepared to enjoy that whole day for gaming. I just need to find another 200 for this since I already have $50 down on it.

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

I wouldn't care if people saw me playing it on the train. In fact, I bet that people would be interested in seeing it if they saw it in the wild... which maybe was your point. Who wants strangers all man-handling their system?

Expected this price. I'm not entirely sold on the early software lineup, so I think I'll wait it out.

@anon_mastermind

Even if I felt like that about waiting, my DS phat has a busted hinge and isn't as awesome as it used to be. I need a new DS of any kind so I'm almost forced to get this at launch... almost forced. lol /justification

I just pre-ordered at Amazon (no release-day shipping??). Blue for me. I'm going to return my GameStop thing. 10% tax is much worse than $10 shipping. Hope there are no dead pixels.

@anandxxx

Ouch, 10% tax, where do you hail from? In Michigan it's only 6% which is about $15 bucks so it's roughly the same either way but I get mine on launch.

Wait, aren't you from Chicago or at least the Illinois state?

@DrFinkelstein
I'd get it without question if I were in your situation, as well. But, my DSi is in fine shape

@anandxxx

10%?!? Aye, I feel you there. It's 9% in Alabama.

Still, I'll keep my Gamestop pre-order. I can pay it off in spurts, and I've already put down 20% on it. Plus there will likely be a midnight launch.

Preordered a black one on Amazon... wonder if doing so immediately after the listing went up ensures me a system.

A bit high. I'll end up buying it, though. Don't know if at launch ... not interested in many launch games.

I think pre-ordering from Amazon will guarantee a system (at least in the first couple of days or until they stop taking pre-orders). It's a huge retailer, and Nintendo will probably supply them with a decent amount of systems. After all, I always say that I bought my games at Amazon on those Nintendo Channel surveys!

@ludist210@DrFinkelstein
Yeah, Chicago has, like, the highest tax in the nation, or something. It's ridonculous. But, you know, it's understandable. Kickbacks don't pay for themselves.

It's good to have the final release date and price. I can't wait to get mine!

No sales tax in Montana, bee-hotches!

Living in Montana is its own form of punishment.

You are all very lucky with your Sales Tax. It is currently 20% in the UK

Holy shit. I wonder how much the 3DS will sell in the UK. It's like "new car" or "3DS". I'd pick the 3DS, but still...

It's retailing just shy of a 250GB PS3 in price. It's crazy.

I heard a couple guys over at Gamespot that were playing the augmented reality stuff that it felt like 21st century gaming. AR might be the best thing going for the 3DS at launch, and I can understand how cool it sounds.

And clearly somebody has never set foot in Montana. ;)

Maybe I'll scoop it up later in the year...I haven't decided. With Star Wars coming out on Blu-ray along with the extended versions of Lord of the Rings and the Jurassic Park Trilogy, the 3DS might have to wait.

@Deerock69

Best thing too is that it's coming with the system. I don't know how they'll handle cards or something in the future, but we get like six at launch to play with.

*Dances a Jig*

I'm happy that there weren't any bad surprises concerning the price and release date. I'll be saving up for mine!
