Judges: Zero, Anandxxx, Pandareus (the mighty triumvirate!)

Hey, results are in for the Mega Man Robot Master Haiku Battle! We got a lot of great entries (check the original thread here), and it was a super tough job picking winners, but in the end we narrowed it down to three. Kind of. So here we go!

#3 - GelatinousEncore
Space is infinite
We are insignificant
Why do we matter?
-Galaxy Man

GelatinousEncore has chosen BIT.TRIP FATE as his prize and will receive it once he gets his Wii code over to me. Great job!!!

#2 - MechaKoopa
Ready, my scissors!
(Hope he brings paper, not rock)
WTF?! Metal?!
- Cut Man

MechaKoopa is my sister's husband and he does not own a Wii nor a DS. If he had won this competition elsewhere, he would probably have sent my Wii code in to get a free game. But that wouldn't make much sense here. So, in a gesture of unbridled generosity, he has chosen the writer of his favorite of the haikus to receive his prize instead. Which leads us to...

#MechaKoopa's choice - TriforceBun
People say I'm lame
but when Hanukkah rolls by
guess who gets called first.
-Top Man

TriforceBun has chosen Mario Party 2 as his prize and will receive it next time he turns on his Wii. Good show!!!

#1 - ludist210
Haikus are silly
Sometimes they don't make much sense
Refrigerator
-Clown Man

ludist210 has chosen LostWinds as his prize and will receive it once we figure out why we aren't listed as friends yet. Kudos!!!

Thanks again to everyone who got involved and made the contest a sweeping success!

Dear Madam or Double Madam,

I noticed my entry in the MEGA MAN BOSS ROBOT HAIKU BATTLE!!!!! was not selected as a winning entry. This must be some kind of mistake. I shall now point out reasons why mine was funny and/or why you didn't get it, despite being the best.

Reason 1: It was the best
Reason 2: I hate you
Reason 3: My jokes are too smart for you
Reason 4: Other people had the good sense to reference better jokes
Reason 5: I want free stuff

Please consider the content of this letter and re-evaluate the winners. Pick applicants whose real/usernames start with an H. And features an underscore.

Sexually yours,
-Heth_Gastelum

Ludist? Plagiaramizing!?

I knew I had heard that haiku before. It wasn't just my imagimanation. Huh. Funny how things work out. Of course however, this is an outrage, and I feel Ludist's haiku be stricken from the record. People pour minutes and MINUTES and often some seconds after that into thinking up these haikus, one man should not get by on the use of another person's pre-haiku'd haiku. Also I still think Bun or the one about Cut Man shoulda won.

Also I don't get what's so great about GE's. Its not really funny (then again I guess this contest wasn't really about being funny?) and still think there were better ones. And I shall present them now for they are great:

What is my power?
Constantly, the ridicule.
The end comes tonight.

-Hard Man

At first I was like "meh", but then I read the last line again.

I see what you did there, Tunnelman, and oh did I lol.

Ok I figured why not write a haiku, just for fun. Here goes:

Vengeful attraction
Will thus determine your fate
Now that we are near

- Magnet Man

A good example of a completely and grammatically correct sentence, pertaining to the robot master and using entendres well. Not the funniest or most clever, but definitely one of the more solid ones.

Thanks Bender, for this
Talking me into a downgrade
Curse Robot One X!

- Woodman

This one got me a lol just for the Futurama reference. Unfortunately the middle line has one syllable too many, easily fixed my replacing "talking" with "talked".

Jump my shots? Well FREEZE!
Such a great pose for me to
touch your genitals.

- Flash Man

Just lol. Why does Mega Man jump like that anyway? He's basically asking for it.

@nate38

Thanks good buddy, I didn't think anyone would get mine. Jovelo Points if you can guess what action each sound effect is for.

Also I'm just now realizing that the contest says its for "Boss Robots" as opposed to "Robot Masters", which is what they're called and what I thought it said originally. I thought I could get by since Mega Man is technically a Robot Master. Oh well.

@Dillo64
"Biddit" is very accurate onomatopoeia for Mega Man's landing sound. I also only recently caught onto the last line being Mega Man's death sound! Glad you liked mine. :D

@Dillo64

I would say...

fa-DOIT DOIT doit doit < - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stage select/teleport out sound
BOIP BOIP fiddit BOIP fiddit < - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Two shots, landing, shot, landing
FWOOM FWOOM FWOOM fwoom fwoom..... < - - - - - - Death

Nice, thanks! Sorry about the delay, there was nothing I could do. I could've remembered my wii code but oh well

These were great choices, I really enjoyed reading everyone's entries. My meagre Mega Man knowledge prevented me from entering. :)

And... Ludist will have LostWinds next time he signs into his Wii.

Thus ends the battle.

FOREVER.

...or is it?

Let's do another battle like this sometime! Maybe for DSi software when the 3DS comes out, perhaps...?

@ludist210 Nah I'm fine with it. Besides I only promised one winner, and we picked three in the end, so no one can cry sour grapes.

SOUR GRAPES!!!

only kidding!

@TriforceBun Monetary value prize contests every 3 months? Hmm.

Actually that would be fun, I'd like more competitions. Although funding-wise we probably can't pick three winners every time. Unless people keep donating tons and tons of money.

If we start doing more competitions maybe we should keep track of everything in a single place.
