Judges: Zero, Anandxxx, Pandareus (the mighty triumvirate!)

Hey, results are in for the Mega Man Robot Master Haiku Battle! We got a lot of great entries (check the original thread here), and it was a super tough job picking winners, but in the end we narrowed it down to three. Kind of. So here we go!

#3 - GelatinousEncore
Space is infinite
We are insignificant
Why do we matter?
-Galaxy Man

GelatinousEncore has chosen BIT.TRIP FATE as his prize and will receive it once he gets his Wii code over to me. Great job!!!

#2 - MechaKoopa
Ready, my scissors!
(Hope he brings paper, not rock)
WTF?! Metal?!
- Cut Man

MechaKoopa is my sister's husband and he does not own a Wii nor a DS. If he had won this competition elsewhere, he would probably have sent my Wii code in to get a free game. But that wouldn't make much sense here. So, in a gesture of unbridled generosity, he has chosen the writer of his favorite of the haikus to receive his prize instead. Which leads us to...

#MechaKoopa's choice - TriforceBun
People say I'm lame
but when Hanukkah rolls by
guess who gets called first.
-Top Man

TriforceBun has chosen Mario Party 2 as his prize and will receive it next time he turns on his Wii. Good show!!!

#1 - ludist210
Haikus are silly
Sometimes they don't make much sense
Refrigerator
-Clown Man

ludist210 has chosen LostWinds as his prize and will receive it once we figure out why we aren't listed as friends yet. Kudos!!!

Thanks again to everyone who got involved and made the contest a sweeping success!

Why not sign up for a (free) account?

Next time, we should do a music contest. I'm pretty awesome at making music.

@nate38 I'm sorry you don't like great games. Maybe you should try another hobby.

@gamewizard65

No, I added everyone. I just don't currently have a Wii. I guess you're my Secret Santa buddy? I'll let you know when I'm up and running again. Oh yeah, anandxxx, I'm supposed to give you...something for Secret Santa. I'll do that once I have a working Wii.

@GameDadGrant

I have to admit not getting the reference. I tried not just going for the funny ones, though. GE's was my favorite, actually.

I went for the funny ones. I am a shallow and sophomoric man.

I hate to be a meanie, but that 'refrigerator' haiku is an old one.
I'm surprised nobody caught that. Just google it.
Of course, I'm sure ludist was just having fun and meant no harm.

This was a fun contest.

Aww! It ruins the fun when you just come right out and SAY it!

INTERESTING.

It was a good application of it though, anyhow. But it loses some points for lack of originality, so I'm going to dump him into 3rd place.

Thus solving the problem once and for all.

But...

ONCE AND FOR ALL.

Controversy!

Come on, Zero, you're a teacher, right? You should know to check for plagiarism!

And what really gets me is that ploot blew the whistle so...diplomatically.

This could have been big! With proper buildup behind the scenes, Haiku-gate could have been a wonderful, scandalous blowout! Finger pointing! Desk slamming! Shouting across the courtroom! It could have taken the Negative World BY STORM.

@Pandareus No, what you realize when you are a teacher is that students are students IE 90% of them are going to plagiarize and if you can't sometimes turn a blind eye to lesser cases, you're going to be failing everyone.

Actually in grade school this is an even bigger issue than college, because grade school kids don't even fully understand how/why plagiarism is wrong other than their teachers told them it is. And they also have no idea how to research anything. Give an assignment like a report on a country and you're just asking to get back a bunch of stuff copied and pasted straight from wikipedia. So you have to get more creative in your assignments.

And who would have thought anyone could plagiarize on a Mega Man Boss Robot Haiku Battle!!!!!? I think he gains some points for doing what 90% of the success of the real world depends upon, stealing other people's work and passing it off as your own.

HE COULD WORK FOR SONY!!!

And like, Hard Man. Like Erect Penis Man.

I heard it somewhere and thought it was funny. I didn't really think it would WIN anything. I was shocked when Zero sent me the PM to be honest. If you want to recalculate, that's fine. I don't want anyone to be sore over it.

Add a few more syllables and you could've taken this contest by storm!

@Pandareus

Clown Man shouts "See you in my dreams!" when you deliver the final blow. .... he was a strange character.

@GameDadGrant

5 syllables? That would've fit nicely..

@ludist210 Nah I'm fine with it. Besides I only promised one winner, and we picked three in the end, so no one can cry sour grapes.

Speaking of which GelatinousEncore still needs to message me his Wii #, if he wants his prize...
