I enjoyed this demo. Very impressed with the animation. I don't think it will be too much trial and error since each thing you possess tells you what it'll do before you do it.

As for Phoenix Wright, I find it is a good idea to space the sequels apart. During the final case in the Edgeworth game, I actually swore at my DS many times because it dragged on for so long. This may have been because I had recently just finished Apollo Justice.

"Ace Attorney Fatigue" is very real.

I do however recommend the games. I love them very much. PW1 is a good total package, but PW3 is amazing due to the way it wraps the whole thing up. Part 2 is good enough.

I didn't get Ace Attorney Fatigue when I played JFA, T&T, and Apollo Justice in the course of a month. In fact, I'd probably say Apollo Justice is my favorite game in the series. Though it was a boring month otherwise, didn't have much to do. Plus, I had a bunch of friends to chat with about it as I went through. On the other hand, Edgeworth's game dragged on SO MUCH even though I played it a couple years after finishing the others. Especially in that final case. Maybe AA Fatigue is a matter of how many games you play rather than how rapidly you play them.

But yeah, Ghost Trick. Played the DS demo and thought it was pretty fun to play around with things to find alternate solutions. There weren't many, but that's still more than most games of this type would allow.

Okay, from hearing you guys talk about the GT demo, sounds completely different from the online one I posted. I'll have to check it out.

It IS different! Good stuff, I want more. More ghost tricks, more Missile, and more donuts.

Heads up, bitches. I was just listening to Warning! A Huge Podcast, and it seems that Ghost Trick is coming to the iPhone in enhanced, yet cheaper form. The producer even apologized to the handful of people who bought the DS game. So you iPhone dudes might want to wait a bit...

I might be an iPhone dude myself soon, so maybe I should, as well.

Playing games on iPhone... LOL?

Ok so maybe it works fine for point and click games, but still...

Just like Kinect, the Wii, the DS, etc., good games can be built around any solid interface. It just takes some vision and intelligent development.

I'm sure there are quite a few good iPhone games already.

That's what people say, but then the best examples are usually games also on DS and/or PSP, or something like Zenonia which gets a ton of praise on iPhone then comes to DS and gets good but not amazing scores and no one cares about it.

I honestly can't help but think that iPhone games that get praise are like I dunno... when people praise local bands they love that no one else heard of. Like 90% of the praise comes from the fact that they're local, and once you remove that factor, they're just another drop in the pond?

Yeah, we'll see. I mean, everyone says Angry Birds is, like, the best thing ever, and it didn't exactly blow me away.

The iPhone will at least be good for Adventure games (and just picking stuff up for cheap, in general). Have fun with your full-priced SD Ghost Trick, while I'm wilding out on the HD version that I got for ONE dollar!

Who on earth pays full price for games? What is this, the 80s?

A discounted DS game is about $15. A discounted iPhone game is ONE.

That's because most of the games are like an hour or two of content, barring the games made for DS/PSP that get ported over. It'd make more sense to compare them to DSiWare games.

...except for the DS/PSP (and other legacy) games that get ported over?

Anyway, they're still cheaper than DSiWare.

Uh oh, we're losing anandxxx to the dark side. Soon we'll see him singing the praises of Gameloft games.

@anandxxx That's because they're developed by a team of one dude in his mom's basement OH ZING GOT YOU BAD THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!11111111

That's real indie development! Not like your bloated, 8-man DS teams!

@Pandareus
Yeah, it's fun to take the other position once in a while. I don't even HAVE an iPhone yet, haha. I'm mostly just providing a counterpoint. It IS pretty hard to deny the bang you can get for a buck on the iPhone, though. And the frequent, ridiculous discounts. There's not a chance in hell I'll miss out on the 3DS, but, you know... $150 Apple Store Gift Card. I've gotta do something with it. (Any takers?? I'll sell it to you for $140!)

A $150 App Store card...that's like, two years of gaming right there. iOS really is a great platform with a ridiculous amount of solid games to play.

Edit - Oh, you said Apple Store, as in, the retail place. That'll get you more than two thirds of the way to an iPod Touch, which is definitely worth buying.

I'm not going to argue the value per se, but despite being a total cheapskate, I'm at the point where I have enough money to buy more games than I have time to play. So a bunch of $1 games means nothing to me, if they aren't at the quality level of the games I am currently playing. Which right now are:

Kirby's Epic Yarn
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Nine Persons rooms doors whatever it's called
Dragon Quest IX
Fluidity
BIT.TRIP FLUX
Etc.

I mean, $1 or $10, does the iPhone really have high quality games that would keep me happy, or would I be playing them wishing I were playing something else on my Wii/DS? I know a lot of places in Chicago to get a hot dog for a buck, but I'm not sure if I'd want to eat that way very often.

There are many good $1 games on iOS, yes. Honestly though, most of the GREAT games will run you around three to five bucks.

There are sales CONSTANTLY though, lots of more expensive titles are discounted to a dollar all the time.

Right, even the more expensive games eventually get to that ONE dollar price point.

@Orbital74
You mean the 8gb, right? It's still 8 times my current iPod, I guess. I hate how Apple gouges you for fucking RAM, though. (And everything else.)

As far as I can tell, 8gb Touches are $229-$40 at most retail stores. I doubt the Apple Store will have that discount, though.

@Zero
iPod games are probably not packed with life-threatening nitrates, though. I mean, I don't need more games, obviously. But it would be cool to have access to them. And it would be nice to have a new music player, as well.

I haven't even made a list of the games I'd want, but I'm sure there are at least 10. Infinity Blade, Ghost Trick, Space Invaders and/or those Cave shooters, etc...
