FATAL FURY 3: ROAD TO THE FINAL VICTORY
Original platform: NEOGEO
Publisher: D4 Enterprise
Players: 1-2
ESRB Rating: T (Teen) – Violence
Price: 900 Wii Points
Description: Originally released in 1995, this is the fourth title in the Fatal Fury series of beat-'em-up games. Previous releases in the series used a two-plane battle system allowing you to move and fight between the foreground and background. This game features a three-plane format – foreground, background and main plane – known as the Oversway System. Characters will automatically move back to the main line after a certain period of time in the foreground or background planes. Other new features include Combination Arts (the ability to execute combo attacks with simple rhythmic button taps), Hidden Abilities (superior versions of the popular Special Moves and Super Special Moves from previous installments) and minor tweaks to all of the characters' Special Moves. As a result, this installment offers the deepest strategies and tactics in the Fatal Fury series to date.

Shantae! I look forward to trying that out...

Whoa, a VC game!

Otherwise, pretty "meh" week for Wii, but Shantae for DSi looks awesome.

Sonic 4 next week, yay!

Shantae, nice.

Looks like an excellent game by the good folks at WayForward. Loving their work recently. Game looks beautiful and at 6 hours, the game should be well worth 1200 points.

@TriforceBun

I'm in the same boat. I never bought a DSi. ._. So I'll just wait for the 3DS.

My electricity went down at my house around 12:30 and I really hope it's back on by the time I get off work. Otherwise I won't be able to download Shantae 2 : (

I just downloaded, Shantae: Risky's Revenge, and I'm in 2D platforming love. I've only played it for a half an hour or so, but so far, so very good. The graphics are amazingly rich, and the music is very enjoyable. The action is a bit repetitive, but I'm guessing there'll be power-ups or something along the way to keep things interesting. DSi needs more games like this. Heck, the gaming world in general needs more games like this.

I don't have a DSi (looking forward to Shantae when I get a 3DS though), and I don't like fighting games, so again there's nothing for me to be interested in.

@Smerd

No, you know TWO people who are happy about that.

@Smerd

Ha, awesome!

And yeah, don't forget there are two fighting game fans on Negative World. Myself, and our very own Dynablade!

Who, speaking of which, is pretty awesome at SUPER Street Fighter IV. We finally were able to get together online and face each other over LIVE. The victories went mostly in his favor... I shame myself as a fighting game fan. I need more practice! Then... I shall come back stronger than ever!

I will unleash my fatal fury, and invoke my killer instinct! True mortal combat will ensue, and I shall emerge as the king of fighters. Indeed, I shall go into this as if it were my final fight!!! ........... clayfighter.

@GameDadGrant
LOL
That was pretty clever... but please don't be a World Hero - I need you alive because you and I are due for a Samurai Shodown!

@Dynablade
Yes I stand corrected - there are now two of you!

**
I think we all need to play some TvsC soon..

What fighting games do you two suggest on the VC? I have Samurai Shodown II and Street Fighter II Turbo.. I grew up playing with a few Neo Geo games at the arcade years ago but I didn't play them all...

I've only scratched the surface of Shantae so far, and haven't really acquired any abilities. Looks like the game is going to be quite condensed, which should be expected, I guess. The file size isn't that big (about 120 blocks) and yet the amount of animation, sound samples and music is impressive. They really did a lot with what they had to work with, but that kind of severe file size restriction, there are limits to what you can do.

By condensed, I mean the map seems rather small.
