Mizuguchi working on Wii music game Mizuguchi, the man behind Rez and Lumines, has announced that he is working on a music game for the Wii. Right now, the only thing we know about the project is that itís called ĎQJí. Mizuguchi hopes that this game will bring us a new way to play music titles, thanks to the Wiimote. I am so happy to see the Wii getting another music game that isnít in the long line of Guitar Hero and Rock Band clones.
Going back to Guitar Hero, it's true they are milking the franchise, but at least with each new version they are adding more stuff to it. At least, with the Wii versions. Sure, there are one-off single-band only installments that are separate from the "main" series, but no one HAS to buy those. The only thing I can fault them for is not releasing those songs as DLC. Oh well.
I'm a little miffed that BAND HERO is coming out. It's basically just GUITAR HERO but with pop songs. Why did Activision have to make this a separate game? Why not just make a "Pop Music" DLC bundle and let us play those songs in GUITAR HERO 5? It uses all the same instruments, anyway. Oh, that's right. Because Activisions wants our money.
My "rage" for BAND HERO is sated a little bit because of a rumor that the songs on the disc will be transferrable to GUITAR HERO 5, but... still. There's really no need for a whole new disc. "Updates" like these are what DLC is for!
