In Find It mode, you must find balloons hidden by other players. There’s a limited time to hide and find the balloons, so act fast! Why not sign up for a (free) account?

@r_hjort

Yes.

Dude, just do it. You won’t regret it. Or try the original, if you can. Pretty sure it’s cheaper than this latest game. Maybe...?

@GameDadGrant
But the original isn't on my beloved Switch.

I will get the game, it's just a matter of when. It's not so much about the money as it is about me buying games I don't have time to play. Thanks for all the input, btw!

Honestly? I feel like maybe we should have gotten the original included with this sequel on Switch. It’s ridiculous that 1.) it wasn’t on Wii or Wii U (even though it totally could have been) and 2.) it’s not a separate downloadable on 3DS. I mean, it’s cool it’s on 3DS, but why only in the Pac-Man & Galaga Dimensions collection? That is only available on physical media, for no apparent reason.

Including it with this new release on Switch would have been perfect. Oh well. At least we have part 2 now. Enjoy it when ya get it!

I've only put maybe 30 minutes into Pac-Man, and that includes the tutorial. Yes, the tutorial is useful in this Pac-Man. I am kind of bummed there's no classic mode. Still, already well worth the money.

@cooliocuneo

Classic mode, as in, old-school 1980s Pac-Man?

@GameDadGrant Yes. Give me a maze full of pellets, and let me chomp with no frills.

Well...the Switch version of Namco Museum is pretty cool. Just saying...!

Is Pac-Man Championship 1 (or DX) on Switch in any form yet? I watched some videos of it and it looked like a lot of fun, and surprisingly different from its sequel.

Nothing against Championship 2 though. I'm still having a lot of solid arcadey fun with that. But like @GameDadGrant said, it would've been amazing to have the original bundled in as well since they're such different experiences.

@TriforceBun

No, unfortunately, the original Pac-Man Championship Edition is not on Switch (at least, not yet!). Right now the only way a Nintendo-only gamer can experience that game is on the 3DS. And sadly, the DX version is not on any Nintendo hardware *at all* which is obviously a bummer. It's great that this latest game came out on Switch (with new, exclusive features!) but would it really have been too much work for Namco to have included the first two (one and a half?) games as collection of sorts?

What are the major differences between the two Championship Editions?

@r_hjort

The DX version adds some new types of ghosts, introduces the bomb action (which when activated, returns all ghosts to the center, with the drawback of lowering the point multiplier of the pellets and slows the game speed down), as well as new stages and new forms of display (so it can look like Pac-Mania for example). It includes all the mazes from the first Championship Edition as well.

Oh, I'm sorry, I meant between Championship Edition 1 and 2! Or possibly Championship Edition 1DX and 2. But that was really good info too, so thanks for that!

@GameDadGrant If that collection ever goes on sale, I might bite, but for now, $30 is too high when I only want old-school Pac-Man.

Finally bought Toki Tori 2! Again!

Still an amazing game, so intuitive and clever, looks great, sounds great, tons to explore! I do have a pretty big gripe with this version, though. There's some sort of tutorial text box that pops up every once in a while, and I don't remember that being a thing on the Wii U. I'm not sure for how long that thing will come into play to help me figure things out and it's only popped up two times so far, but whenever it does it takes away some of the magic of the game.

Part of the beauty of the game for me was to explore the environments and observe the wildlife to figure out what you could do. Now that a text box with a couple of talking frogs appears to spell things out for me that beauty is gone. Here's hoping it only happens the first time so that the game won't end up being all hand-holdy and shit.

@r_hjort

D’oh!

Lots of things. Combos, new mazes, boss battles, an adventure mode, and a Switch-exclusive co-op 2-player mode!

@cooliocuneo

But...but...arcade-perfect Splatterhouse is included! That alone is worth $30! ...okay, maybe not. But still...!

Fair enough though. A sale always makes things more intriguing anyway.
