The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
– Forget everything you know about The Legend of Zelda games. Step into a world of discovery, exploration and adventure in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a boundary-breaking new game in the acclaimed series. In this stunning open-air adventure, travel across vast fields, through forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule. Also, with the Nintendo Switch console, your journey is more open than ever as you can take it and the game anywhere and adventure as Link any way you like. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be available on March 3.

Note: To access Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch, a system update that will be available on March 3 is required. The system update downloads in the background, is designed to install quickly and doesn't disrupt gameplay.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Expansion Pass – The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild game packs countless hours of play into a vast world of discovery. That makes it an ideal foundation for more adventures! Launching alongside the game on March 3, this $19.99 Expansion Pass grants access to three new treasure chests, DLC Pack 1 (available this summer) and DLC Pack 2 (available in the 2017 holiday season) as the content becomes available.

Nintendo eShop on Nintendo Switch

Bring the action and fun into the real world as you face off in Wild West duels, cow-milking competitions, a copycat dance-off and more wild activities. Each game takes advantage of the Joy-Con controller features in different ways. While the action unfolds off screen, the audience watches the players themselves instead of the screen. That makes it as hilarious to watch as it is to play – an instant party amplifier! 1-2-Switch will be available on March 3.

Snipperclips – Cut it out, together!Full Game and Free Demo Version – Hey, cut it out! No, really! In this action-puzzle game, paper pals Snip and Clip must cut each other up to overcome tricky obstacles … or just to laugh their heads off (sometimes literally). Snipperclips – Cut it out, together! will be available on March 3.

Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment – The latest campaign from the critically acclaimed hit game Shovel Knight is a full-featured game starring Specter Knight, one of the villains from the original game. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove – For both new knights and its biggest fans, the Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove game includes the original Shovel Knight game, as well as all previously released campaign updates – even Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment! Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove will be available on March 3 and is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch system for a limited time.

Just Dance 2017 – Grab your friends and family, because it’s time to dance! The Just Dance 2017 game brings you more than 40 new tracks, five game modes, updated content all year long and access to 200+ songs through the Just Dance Unlimited service! A free three-month subscription to Just Dance Unlimited comes with every digital or retail purchase of Just Dance 2017 for the Nintendo Switch system. Just Dance 2017 will be available on March 3.

Super Bomberman R will be available on March 3.

I Am Setsuna – The I Am Setsuna game introduces the authentic JRPG style of yesteryear to the Nintendo Switch system. Journey with Setsuna as she prepares to make the ultimate sacrifice and save the people of her land. A powerfully nostalgic experience, blending classic storytelling, battle system and gameplay. I Am Setsuna will be available on March 3.

FAST RMX – Challenge your friends to local split-screen competition or take part in online races against players from all over the world.* This lightning-fast anti-gravity racer is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch system and will be available on March 3.

Nintendo Mobile

Nintendo Switch Parental Controls mobile app
– It’s only natural for parents to have questions about their kids and gaming. That’s why Nintendo Switch has parental controls that let you set rules for them from your smart device with this free app available today on App Store and Google Play. While some parental controls are available on the system itself, the app gives you even more options like push notifications for monthly play summaries and remote accessibility.

Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS

STORY OF SEASONS: Trio of Towns
– Plant crops, raise livestock and even discover romance with the residents of three diverse towns in this massive new entry in the original farm-/life-sim series. Make new friends, fix up the towns and start a family – what story will you write? Connect with other players locally or via the internet to visit a mysterious multiplayer island, and enable the StreetPass feature to send your pet dog, cat or capybara to another player’s game.

Virtual Console on Wii U

Dungeon Explorer
– Dungeon Explorer is a multiplayer action-RPG for the TurboGrafx-16 system in which up to five players can play at the same time. Choose from eight different character types: Fighter, Thief, Warlock, Witch, Bishop, Elf, Bard or Gnome. To survive, you most know all about your enemies’ weaknesses. You must also know about the special attributes of each magic spell and use them to your greatest advantage.

NEUTOPIA – In this classic action-RPG for TurboGrafx-16, take control of a brave boy who sets off on a journey to rescue the kidnapped princess and reclaim the eight medallions that were stolen by an evil demon. You’ll need to rely on your magic compass and information you’ve gathered to find entrances to labyrinths and defeat the bosses in them. Solve puzzles, avoid traps, move blocks and destroy walls to uncover secret rooms. Carefully use your map to uncover hidden treasure and powerful equipment.

HOLY S, I Am Setsuna is $39.99?!

Are ALL of the downloadable games hella expensive as such? I thought the allure of digital was inexpensivity?
Well, it was a retail PS4 & Vita game, and it's retail in Japan. It's a fair price, the game is fantastic from what I've read. Gives off those old-school Chrono Trigger vibes...

How much realistic room do we have out of the box?
I think it's around 26 GB, but keep in mind that games don't save to the cartridge, they save to Switch's internal memory. Take that into account.

@ludist210

But Chrono trigger is 8 bucks on the VC.. If it were retail here, I'd feel different about it.

And I'm "all physical," if possible, too. It should be a while..right? Are we getting hamstrung on Night 1 like the Wii U? Numerous GB getting used up on downloads and updates? I hope not!

@Mr_Mustache

I wouldn't think OS updates will tie up much internal memory, unless there's a massive overhaul in the Switch's lifetime. As strange as this sounds, it gives off Android vibes...and the Android OS is just a bit over 4 GB.

Again, I Am Setsuna is a retail game in Japan. I don't disagree with the price, since developers can charge what they want. You and I will just have to agree to disagree on this one. If you don't like it, don't buy it.

Downloaded the Parental Control App so I can track how much I play. This is important data.

@chrisbg99

lol that's a funny idea. Doesn't the system do this natively like on Wii U?

@DrFinkelstein Kotaku's review of BOTW implied that it does not, nor does BOTW itself track your save file's time played.

I had no idea. I was expecting $19.99 MAX for these games. The mood has changed, it seems.

Like having no clocks in a casino. Nintendo doesn't want you to know how much time you've spent hiding from cruel reality.

You know if the machines really want a flawless Matrix program to smooth their inevitable takeover, they should just create a kickass video game for us all to plug into.

Since you are my go-to on external storage, whats the plan this time around for us?

I got a 256GB SanDisk card from Amazon. At the time, it was $60. Not sure what they are now. I've been using SanDisk for years, and never had an issue with them. Recommended.

Is this the entire launch lineup? It can't be, right? Weren't World of Goo / Little Inferno / Human Resource Machine launch games? I thought I remembered a bunch of launch games announced?!

@Mr_Mustache I think it was a retail game in Japan?

Legit Question: should we be downloading the Parental Controls to track our ""progress?""

@Zero

You're like a full page behind, mister! Ludist has been all over me about that, scroll up!

@Zero

I think they were having problems getting all three ready to go. I'll check the lineup when I get my Switch.

I already very much dislike the eShop as compared to the Wii U, and even the Wii. Seems very..minimalist??
