I received a neat e-mail today from the Villa Gorilla team. They just announced Yoku's Island Express, an open-world pinball adventure. I was skeptical by the description but the trailer got me quite excited for something pretty unique.



They are showing the game at GDC in Microsoft's Lobby Bar, Monday-Wednesday of next week if you're going.

I have no idea how they will pull this off, but I was psyched to hear what is one of the most creative concept-ideas I've heard in a LONG time. Can't wait to learn more!

Looks pretty awesome.

I had the idea for a pinball platformer awhile back though, BOO-URNS. Ah well, I have too many ideas anyway, can throw that one out now.

Seems less like "pinball" and more like a 2D version of Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg. Or some new take on NightSky.

Came in to the thread skeptical, but the concept is definitely intriguing. Let's hope it's more Metroid Prime Pinball and less Flingsmash!

Which reminds me, I still have to try Mario Pinball Land...

Haha, has anyone done a Roguelike (or at least procedurally generated) pinball game?
