You know, for as much hype as I've had for Splatoon 2, it didn't occur to me that we might see another Global Testfire. Luckily that ignorance paved the way for patiences as I woke up this morning to the news that in Late March Nintendo will allow Nintendo Switch owners to be able to experience an all new Global Testfire and play Splatoon 2 early.
Splatoon 2 in March? YES, PLEASE! Here's the official trailer for the announcement.
And below are the dates and times the testfire will occur.
March 24 12-12:59 p.m. PT / 3-3:59 p.m. ET 8-8:59 p.m. PT / 11-11:59 p.m. ET
March 25 4-4:59 a.m. PT / 7-7:59 a.m. ET 12-12:59 p.m. PT / 3-3:59 p.m. ET 8-8:59 p.m. PT / 11-11:59 p.m. ET
March 26 4-4:59 a.m. PT / 7-7:59 a.m. ET
Six time slots. I know I can make five but I might rearrange the ol' work schedule and try to make all six since the first one I'd miss is that 3pm on the 24th. I gots to get me some Splatoon 2!
More details have been unveiled about Splatoon 2 (or maybe just re-announced) but you can find them at the source below where the press release sits or on the Splatoon 2 main game page for Negative World shortly. For now, my excited-self is going to grab some breakfast!
Okay, I'll give it another shot then tonight! Thanks.
At this point I WANT to like and play the game, but I'm just not good at it and not sure if I can improve or not. I think what it will boil down to is if my other friend (local) who owns a Switch enjoys the demo (he didn't bother getting a Wii U) and buys the game, then I will also buy it. But if he doesn't, I dunno... It might just be too much work to learn to play solo. The reason I sat and trained (literally) to get good at Halo 2 was because my friends all played. If they weren't sitting on the couch next to me in those days, I'd have held to my opinion of "Worst Game EVER" (which was actually my Halo username, lol).
I'd still suggest giving the Roller a shot if you haven't already. You don't even shoot with it--you can just walk towards your opponents to squish them! Or just paint around and move constantly. Granted, it takes a bit of sneakiness, but no more than hunting stuff in BotW.
I'm so tired... I will try to play a bit, but I may do better/worse based on the fact that my reaction time is very slargleblock boot boot gramcracker.
So I appreciate the roller suggestion. I'm still missing something, because I ran at a guy who also had a roller and he killed me and kept going. So... Yeah. I'm pretty frustrated.
Also appreciate the charger gun thing idea, but it seems to have zero range and by the time I partially line up a shot I'm dead by 1000 things.
I played a handful of games, and every time we lost by more than 20%. Every time. I am really, really bummed out right now and going to bed. I'm sure I'll feel better in the morning, but that sucked more than most gaming experiences I've had in the last 10 years.
I only played 3 matches tonight. Won two, lost one. My biggest complaint is that they messed with the controls. I'm not used to motion aiming, so I will have to cope, at least for the test fire, but I kept opening the map whenever I went to jump. X should still be jump Nintendo! I got splatted a(n un)fair number of times because they messed with that. Otherwise, looks good!
Charger is the longest range, as long as you hold down a full charge of course. It's a really hard weapon to use so don't expect to be good at it right away. I almost exclusively played a charger in the first game and everyone said they were bad at first but I was determined to make it work. They're quite deadly when you know how to play them and know the maps!
So, how different from the original Splatoon is it? I mean, the original is a great game, so I'm always down for more. But if it's practically the same, Animal Crossing style, I can put off buying a Switch longer.
Well we don't know many details from it yet but the Testfire is more of the same, just with a new weapon type and new specials. I'm sure there'll be more modes and hopefully a more extensive single player mode.
Yeah. It's The Reef and Mussleforge Fitness. I'm liking them however I feel they are a bit similar to each other so I wish there had been some more variety. Saltspray Rig and Walleye Warehouse were a bit more diverse.
I tried to get on last night at 11. But my wifi/modem/router must've been acting funny, because it wouldn't let me connect to the internet. So no test fire for me.
It might've been a switch problem, too. My phone was connected to wifi just fine.
Erika had a slight issue but it was fine after a hard reset, which is undocking the system, holding the power button down for 5-sec, then actually shutting it off for a moment.
Sorry you didn't get to jump in! I hope they'll do another soon. Like an extra hour or two.
Well my friend was sold after just a few trial matches, and while I still never won and always came in last, I guess I'll buy it too so we can play together. If I learned to be good at and eventually really enjoy the Worst Game Ever (Halo 2) I can learn to be good at this new Worst Game Ever.
