How's Excitebike 64? I know little to nothing about that game. Never really cared for the original Excitebike but Excite Truck and Excitebots were great.

That and Wario Land: Shake It makes this a solid enough week.

I absolutely loved Excitebike 64. The controls take a bit of time to get used to but it was nice re-angling your bike to keep momentum and/or redirect your path. The soccer mode is also fun and is kind of a dumbed down version of Rocket League. I haven't played EB64 in a loooooong time so hopefully it has held up.

It rises from the ashes! I want kriswright to start sending us news messages again!!!

@nate38 It was really good at the time, tough to say how it would be now.

@nate38I've never played it, but I've heard nothing but good things about Excitebike 64.

Wow sounds like a surprisingly solid week.

The series never interested me personally, but I understand Excitebike 64 was very well received.

Wario Land Shake It was quite nice but I never ended up finishing it.

Ah so Pokemon is releasing. I haven't bought or olayed a Pokemon game since Red and was willing to take the plunge this time but maybe I'll wait to see if Switch gets a main game.

Ooo, I might have to check out Wario Land! Not anytime soon, but good to know it's there.

ExciteBike 64 was pretty awesome, but I'm not sure how well it would hold up to new players. The control and physics are obviously not as tight as modern games, but the gameplay is still solid and it has good, varied track design. The few minigames like soccer are also fun if you have the opportunity. It really was a complete package in its day. I would say it has more similarities to Excite Truck than it does the original ExciteBike, especially the outdoor tracks. It still has the terrible music for example...

Am I to assume that it still does not emulate the Controller Pak in any way? If so, it'd mean you could save only one created track, which would be a bit of a bummer. I'm also curious if it will still contain the NES ExciteBike...

ExciteBike 64 is very good, but it's a bit tricky to recommend since I think racers have come a fair way since then.

Wario Land Shake It I can recommend to anyone though. I thought that was great.

Nikki's back! Yay! <3

Has anyone ever tried using the pro controller with Wario Land? Is it possible to map the waggle to a button? It's been so long since I played I can't remember...

Wario Land Shake It! is Wiimote only.

I'll get Pokémon Sun eventually. I need to get a new New 3DS first, though since my "a" button is busted.

Shame, would be great to play with the more-comfortable-to-hold pro controller but I guess without a gyro that's a no go, I guess you could technically shake the WUG since it does have a gyro but something that heavy might cos some injuries.

@deathly_hallows Only with homebrew.

Hmm, I wonder if they spruced up the high-res mode of Excitebike 64 to run at a steadier framerate? Has anyone picked up the VC release?

I was pretty fond of that game. Aside from some iffy cornering, it was really fun! I kind of wish that every track was in a continuous line, like the 3D versions of the original Excitebike track.
