'Best SSB Character Ever' Bracket - Round 4: The Elite Eight - vote thru 10/9 - 6PM EST

Round Four begins now! The Elite Eight are upon us!

I will keep things brief on the descriptions this time. Many match ups were very close by a two-point margin. These were those. Peach (sadly for me) knocked out Pac-Man. He must have choked on her turnip! Donkey Kong used Captain Falcon's head like a bongo drum. In a surprise win, sweet yet menacing Villager had a TKO on Little Mac. Finally, Duck Hunt was shot down by Samus's arm cannon.

Winning by larger margins we have Link. He knocked out Wario by ten whole points! Mr. Game & Watch had the better hammer action against King Dedede. Pikachu shocked Ganondorf! Finally, R.O.B.'s nostalgia was no match for Mega Man.

Peach vs. Link
Peach can be fun I guess but I am plain ol' amazed she made it this far.

Mr. Game & Watch vs. Donkey Kong
MG&W is such a delightful surprise to the series. Donkey Kong is cool but not 'that cool'.

Pikachu vs. Villager
One of the most unique characters to ever be in the series and he's really great to play as if you know how to use him.

Samus Aran vs. Mega Man
I'm a Mega fan of Mega Man. I like Samus' series better but I think I gotta vote for someone who has lots of cool boss powers man!

As much as I'd like to resist Link's inevitable victory in this tournament, even I have to admit I have more fun with him than I do with Peach.

His coconut gun can fire in spurts. If he shoots ya!...it's fired in spurts.

From here on out, Pika's probably my guy. I choose you, Pikachu.

Samus Aran vs. Mega Man
I mean, I had to vote against one Original Eight smasher in this top 8...

This is a tough one! I probably have more fun with Peach, but Link is cooler. I guess that works?

Both are fun, but DK is really great.

Oh my goodness! I love Villager, but I think Pikachu just barely edges him out.

Peach vs. Link
I love Link as an overall Nintendo character, but as a Smash fighter, he's gotten a bit old to me. His squatter, toonier self is just a lot more fun to play as IMO (but then you've got the issue that he's a clone and all), so...going with my Melee main again! The floating and those turnips make for a very enjoyable character to goof around with.

Mr. Game & Watch vs. Donkey Kong
I gotta admit, I'm surprised DK made it to the top 8. I've always found him a bit underrated in Smash (if not very flashy or creative), but I had no idea he'd make it this far on NW's own poll. Especially after the popular Falcon went against him. But that said, G&W is just too creative and fun to pass up for me.

Pikachu vs. Villager
Sensing a pattern? Yet again I'm going with the more creative moveset. Villager's a really interesting Smash combatant and a great Animal Crossing representative. He gets my vote today. I'm also a bit surprised at how far Pika got.

Samus Aran vs. Mega Man
Mega Man is my SSB4 co-main and has a very faithful, very awesome play style. He just may be the best-realized Smash character to date. I hope to see him take the crown!

I was about to mark Link by default but then I thought about it and... I never use Link. Toon Link is my main, but Link? Meh. Peach I at least use sometimes, and she was one of my mains for awhile... Link is just a worse Toon Link so there is no reason to ever use him.

Mr. Game & Watch vs. Donkey Kong

Honestly surprised DK made it this far, he always seemed boring to me. Not a huge fan of playing with Mr. Game and Watch either, but I like the concept more and pick him here and there.

Pikachu vs. Villager

I know I'm a bad Nintendo fan but I just don't care about Pokemon stuff. Villager is a lot of fun to play as. Love the tree planting.

Samus Aran vs. Mega Man

Ok, finally a tough one. Samus was one of my mains in early Smash games, but I grew away from her over time. I have been kind of getting back into her in Smash U though. And Mega Man is a great newcomer, at first I struggled to *get* him, but he grew on me fast and now he is one of my mains. Had to go with Mega Man in the end, but both are probably top 5 for me.

@TriforceBun And then I came along and picked all the exact same ones as you.

Puh leez, this is easy!





Peach vs Link - Peach isn't too bad but I know Link way better, and Link is easy to use. Like, real easy. I don't even use him in For Glory like ever, and he's easy to win with. He is so strong and controls so much of the screen. I'd say he's overpowered actually. He used to be my main until Samus really took over this time. I was really good with Link in 64 and Melee.

Game and Watch vs Donkey Kong - I like DK better. I'm not really a fan of Game & Watch's moves.

Pikachu vs Villager - I used to like Pikachu more but I haven't really understood him in 4. His down B is just a pain to use IMO.

Samus vs Megaman - lol, not even a question, though Megaman is one of my mains as well. He's been amazing in Smash 4 and I hope he sticks around in future entries (he probably will...right?), but Samus is just my girl.

LOL I don't even know what this thread is about anyway. I never took the time to read the other threads. Is this about fave overall characters in Smash? Favorite playing characters? Who should stay in Smash? What's with the fighting, are you pitting bots against eachother?

Hahahaha I really shoulda followed the threads better. I was just waiting for my girl Samus to show up.

Well, this is just the way this sort of setup goes. So many characters don't go head-to-head, and some groups may have lots of least-faves in them, so they advance simply because they never face the other sides. Not much can be done about that.

I can't believe that Link beat Wario! I mean, I CAN, but still! And Captain Falcon took a fall, as well? He's, like, the face of the franchise! At the very least, the fist of the franchise!
