I just noticed these replies. Sorry, can't reveal my magical sources.

Just for you Tbun, since you are so cool and helped me out in the past...

Man, if Mother 3 is released in NA, I'd be all over that game, downloading it in a heartbeat, especially if it's under $12!

Seriously though, it was just a matter of time that those games would become a part of the Nintendo Select family, since they already were in other regions.

I'm hoping for a stand alone Captain Toad game for $29.99 or less. I did own the game previously and had completed the first two stories, though I donated that game with a bunch of others during the holiday season in 2015, to a family who was going through some hardships. I do plan on rebuying those games eventually, hoping to do so at a decent price.
